How to bake a chicken in a pumpkin

Pumpkin is considered one of the best side dishes for meat and poultry. Its flesh perfectly shades the taste of meat, useful and low-calorie. And the pumpkin can serve as a kind of pot in which we will try to bake a chicken today.





Chicken in a spicy marinade, baked in a pumpkin along with rice, onions, sweet pepper and apples, turns out tasty and surprisingly fragrant. And the spectacular appearance of this dish will amaze your guests.

Pumpkin with chicken Ingredients
  • 1 pumpkin
  • 1kg chicken meat
  • 120g rice
  • 2 Bulgarian peppers
  • 2 bulbs
  • 2 apples
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • vegetable-oil
  • cilantro
  • salt and pepper


Ingredients for marinade
  • 5 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • juice
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tbsp honey


Preparation
  1. Soak rice in a large volume of water for 2 hours. Put it on the sieve, wash it.
  2. Boil water, add a pinch of salt and rice to it. Bring to a boil and boil over a small heat for 15 minutes. Pour the water, put the rice in a bowl.

  3. Cut the chicken into small pieces. Heat the vegetable oil in the pan
    And roast the chicken to a golden crust.


  4. Cut off the top of the pumpkin, remove the seeds and part of the pulp, leaving walls 1-1.5 centimeters thick. Do not throw the seeds away, dry and eat as a valuable source of zinc, phosphorus, omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E.



    There's also a use for pulp. Earlier we told how to prepare a very delicate and aromatic delicacy from pumpkin, which tastes like canned pineapples or jam from squash.

  5. Now prepare the marinade. Mix in a bowl finely chopped garlic, honey, vegetable oil, soy sauce, lemon juice and balsamic vinegar.
  6. Using a brush, apply the resulting marinade to the walls of the pumpkin and on pieces of chicken.
  7. Chop onions, Bulgarian pepper, apples, parsley and garlic.
  8. In the same oil in which the chicken was fried, lightly roast the onions.
  9. Pour rice to the bottom and lay some of the onions on it.


  10. Then part chicken, onion and fruit-vegetable mix. Put the chicken and the fields again with the remains of the marinade.
  11. Cover the pumpkin with the top, grease with vegetable oil (this will not let it shrink and give a beautiful look) and send it to the oven, heated to 190 degrees.
  12. After an hour, remove the top and bake for another 15 minutes to roast the top layer of the chicken.
  13. Readiness can be determined by a toothpick. If the skin of the vegetable is easily pierced through, then pumpkin-baked chickenI'm ready.
