“Phantom ajika” without cooking according to my mother’s recipe, after which there is no desire to cook another

It is said that real adzhika is made from nuts, salt and Caucasian fragrant herbs. But that doesn’t stop housewives around the world from experimenting and inventing new homemade sauces. Today I'm going to tell you how to make a fake gooseberry. It's a gooseberry sauce with spices and garlic. It is excellent for meat and other hot dishes. Someone says that ajika from gooseberry is similar to tkemali, someone compares it to chutney.

This billet is rolled into cans for the winter, so you can not deny yourself the pleasure to taste a natural sour and sweet sauce with meat. If you like hot sauces, then safely add 5 g of hot pepper to the mixture. To make the sauce as similar as possible to ajika, you can use red gooseberry, but also from green it turns out very unusual and spicy. If you like strange food combinations, let's start cooking.

The ingredients
  • 800g gooseberry
  • 100g garlic
  • 1 bundle parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sugar

Preparation
  1. Wash the greens well. Take parsley and dill, you can use to prepare cilantro or basil. Chop the greens big.
  2. Clean the garlic head. Don't cut the garlic teeth.

  3. Remove the tails from the gooseberry berries and thoroughly wash it under running water. Then grind the gooseberry in a blender or in a meat grinder. To remove the shell, after grinding, rub the gooseberry through a sieve. But this step can be safely missed, if the skin does not bother you.

  4. Grind the garlic with salt and sugar in a blender and mix with gooseberry mash. Taste it. If the gooseberry is too sour, add some sugar.

  5. Put the workpiece on sterilized dry cans and roll them with dry sterilized covers. Keep fake ajika in a cool place until better times. You can store ajika in the refrigerator or in the pantry.

This sauce is for the amateur. But it must be prepared at least once to see if you like this combination of products. Be sure to prepare ajika from gooseberry for baked meat with potatoes. You will get a lot of pleasure from an unexpected spicy taste. If you have ever tried phantom ajika, share your impressions in the comments. Have a good day and new culinary discoveries. See you soon.
