Simple potato salad recipes

There are no options for potato salads. Not for nothing, the Germans invented the proverb: “Every mistress has her own potato salad.”





Indeed, a hearty snack based on potatoes is prepared on all continents and do it in completely different ways. We deliberately excluded from our selection of super-popular olives, vinaigrette and “coat”, with the nuances of cooking and various recipes which managed to introduce readers earlier.





This made it possible to pay more attention to not so well-known, but no less tasty salads from the simplest products.

German Potato Salad with Smoked Potatoes



Potato salads are a classic of German, Czech and Austrian cuisine. Moreover, Germans often eat potato salad as a side dish, often warm, watering with hot broth.

The ingredients
  • 8 potatoes
  • 3 red bulbs
  • 400g smoked sausage
  • 400g ham
  • 100g bacon
  • 200g seedless olives
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • salt and pepper


Preparation
  1. Boil the potatoes in your uniform, peel them.
  2. Put the slices in a bowl and pour the brine from under the olives. Let me brew for 10 minutes.
  3. Cut the olives and sausages in circles, onions with semi-rings, bacon and ham with straws.
  4. Roast bacon in vegetable oil, roast in the same oil onions and sausages.
  5. Combine all the ingredients, salt and pepper in a bowl. Stir it. Place the squarks on top, pour the oil left over after frying.

American Potato Salad with Eggs



Along with pizza and apple pie, potato salad is one of the most popular dishes in the United States. The base of any American potato salad consists of potatoes, eggs, onions, celery petals and mayonnaise.

The ingredients
  • 6 potatoes
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 bulb
  • 3 pickles
  • 1 celery stem
  • 150g mayonnaise
  • salt


Preparation
  1. Boil potatoes in uniform and hard-boiled eggs.
  2. Cube the potatoes and eggs.
  3. Cut the onions, celery and cucumbers finely.
  4. Mix everything in a bowl, salt it, fill it with mayonnaise and mix it.
  5. Cover the bowl with film and put it in the refrigerator for 6 hours.

Finnish salad "Rosolli" with pickled beets and potatoes



Finnish beet salad "Rosolli" will give you a fresh look at the culinary habits of our northern neighbor.

The ingredients
  • 300g potatoes
  • 300g carrots
  • 200g pickled beets
  • 1 pickle
  • 1 apple
  • 1 red bulb
  • green-onion


Sauce ingredients
  • 100g sour cream
  • 1 tbsp beet marinade
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • salt


Preparation
  1. Boil the potatoes and carrots until ready.
  2. Cool, peel and cut the vegetables in cubes.
  3. Pickled beets and pickled cucumber are also cut in cubes.
  4. Just cut the apple and onion with cubes, cut the green onion finely.
  5. Mix everything, tuck in the sauce from these ingredients, stir.

Light and balanced beet salads are always useful and very tasty, especially if you add ingredients that complement and favorably shade the sweetish taste of a juicy root vegetable.

Ant Salad with Potato Straw



The ingredients
  • 8-9 potatoes
  • 0.5 cans of canned corn
  • 250g pork fillet
  • 50g hard cheese
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 bulb
  • 4 tbsp sour cream
  • vegetable-oil
  • salt


Preparation
  1. Take three potatoes, wash and boil. After a little cool and peel off the skin.
  2. Next, prepare the meat. Pork for this salad is best baked. Add your favorite spices, vegetable oil and bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes. Then cool it and cut it fine. If desired, it can be replaced with boiled meat.
  3. Cut the tomato in small cubes and send it to a bowl of sliced meat. The finished potatoes are also cut in cubes and added to the remaining ingredients. Then cut the onions finely, and then send half a can of corn into a bowl.
  4. Add some grated cheese and sour cream. Stir it up and cool it. In the meantime, prepare the main decoration of the salad - a straw of potatoes.
  5. The remaining sodium potatoes are gratered for Korean carrots and washed under running water. Then lay out on a paper towel to get rid of excess moisture. Put the oil in the pan and heat it well. In the heated oil, send the potatoes and fry until it becomes crispy and light brown. Then put the potatoes on a towel to remove excess fat.

  6. Now put the salad on a plate and form a slide from it. Put the potato straw on top of the slide, completely covering it. It turns out a dish that looks like an anthill. You can immediately serve on the table and please guests.


Nisuaz salad with potatoes and tuna



The birthplace of the world famous salad "Nisoise" is the bohemian sunny Nice. The classic recipe includes fresh vegetables, anchovies, boiled eggs, olives, garlic and olive oil. And we offer a salad option from Julia Vysotskaya.

The ingredients
  • 300g string beans
  • 300g canned tuna
  • 10 potatoes (better than young)
  • 250g cherry tomatoes
  • 3 cucumbers
  • 8 quail eggs
  • 1/2 sweet pepper
  • greenbow
  • 20 capers
  • 1/2 bulbs (it is better to take a red onion)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil


Refueling ingredients
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp wine vinegar
  • salt and pepper


Preparation
  1. Boil pod beans and potatoes in uniform.
  2. Boiled potatoes cut into 4 parts, put in a salad bowl, pour two tablespoons of olive oil, mix.
  3. Cut the green onions and send them to the potatoes.
  4. Cut cherry tomatoes in half. Add it to the salad.
  5. Cucumbers, peppers and onions chop with a thin straw.
  6. Boil and cut the quail eggs in half.
  7. Add cucumbers, beans, eggs, capers and red onions to the salad.
  8. Pour the tuna meat, crush it with a fork and put it on a salad.
  9. Pour the salad with a dressing of these ingredients.

"Minute business" salad with potatoes and sauerkraut



This salad was once made by my grandmother. Hearty and floury boiled potatoes, crispy sauerkraut, juicy onions and homemade vegetable oil.

The ingredients
  • 3 potatoes
  • 200g sauerkraut
  • 1 bulb
  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp mustard with grains
  • 1/2 beam of dill
  • 2 pickles
  • black pepper


Preparation
  1. Slice medium cubes of boiled potatoes.
  2. Cut the cucumber in small cubes. Cut the onions with half rings.
  3. Mix in a bowl red onions, cucumbers, potatoes, crushed dill, sauerkraut.
  4. Mix the sunflower oil with mustard. Season the salad with the sauce. Peper and stir.
  5. Bon appetit!


The simplest ingredients, but how delicious! If desired, you can add a pickle, and with warm potatoes, a salad may well serve as the main dish.
