Six Golden Rules by Professor Katsuzo Nishi

The famous Japanese healer Katsuzo Nishi claimed that the cause of all our ailments lies in the spine. Today, in the conditions of quarantine and widespread transition to remote work, we began to spend even more time sitting in front of screens of gadgets. This means that the health system of Katsuzo Nishi is more relevant than ever.

In childhood, Katsuzo Nishi was very often ill. But the boy’s desire to overcome his weakness was so great that he began to develop his own rules from a young age. Gradually, they grew into a wellness system that became popular not only in Japan, but all over the world.

It contains the wisdom of ancient Greek and Egyptian medicine, Tibetan and Chinese practices, yoga and many other sources. Nishi's health system has gone much further. This is not just a set of exercises and rules of nutrition, it is a whole philosophy.

Amazing fact: with a difference of only 3 months, on the other side of the globe, another boy was born in Germany, who went a similar way of life. Since childhood, the sick and weak Joseph Pilates was forced to seriously engage in sports and created a popular wellness technique named after him.

Lovers of soft mattresses will be difficult to admit, but you need to sleep on a hard one. The healer himself states: “In order to maintain the habit of perfect posture, there is no better means than to constantly correct the disturbances ... by sleeping on a firm flat bed.”

I know people who regularly sleep on the tourist mat. But one can hardly imagine that everyone could follow such an example. What's the way out? Choose the most rigid mattress, not too thick.

The Japanese say instead of a pillow: “A curved neck is a sign of a short life.” Katsuzo sees the way out in replacing soft pillows with a roller under the neck. Your neck will be in its natural position.

You need to fall asleep on your back, and during the night you can sleep in any other position: on your side and even on your stomach. Getting used to such a dream will go a maximum of 3 weeks. Over time, the back of the head will cease to flow. Unpleasant sensations during sleep will pass.

Exercise "Goldfish" is the third rule of health in the scientist's system. It's called gold for a reason. It, like the fabulous goldfish, is able to radically improve the condition of the spine and restore digestion in the shortest possible time.

Exercise should be done in the morning and evening. After training, you feel a sense of relaxation and peace, as if you have become a goldfish for a while and, swimming in the water, washed away fatigue, anxiety and illness.

Goldfish is perfectly combined with yoga and other oriental practices. Some athletes like to use this exercise as a warm-up before exercising in the gym. This is especially true when working with weights.

Implementation technique
  1. Take the starting position: lying on your back, legs straight, hands behind your head, body pressed, socks stretched to your face.
  2. Begin to make rapid vibrational movements, resembling the vibration of the body. The body should literally wriggle from side to side, like a floating fish. The movement should be from side to side, not up and down.
  3. The first time perform the exercise for one minute, then bring the time to three minutes.
  4. At first, the exercise may seem difficult to perform. In this case, you can seek help from relatives: let them hold you by the ankles or feet, while swaying them in different directions.

Exercise for capillaries

And the capillaries need training! In the Nisha health system there is a special vibrational gymnastics for the limbs.

Implementation technique
  1. The starting position is lying on your back.
  2. Raise your arms and legs perpendicular to the floor.
  3. Perform vibrating movements for 1-2 minutes.

Exercise "Close of hands and feet"

The connection of feet and palms harmonizes the work of all body systems. According to Katsuzo, the fifth rule of health helps the forces of mind and body to achieve balance.

Implementation technique
  1. The starting position is lying on your back. Neck on a comfortable roller.
  2. Open your knees and connect your feet. Hands bend at your elbows and join your palms on your chest.
  3. Close your eyes and lie down in this position for 5-10 minutes.

Exercise for spine and abdomen

This exercise helps to simultaneously involve both the stomach and back. Thus, a balance is achieved in the work of different body systems, mental mood improves. But first of all, the beneficial effect is on the work of the intestine.

Implementation technique
  1. We will skip the preparatory exercises and immediately move on to the main part. Sit down on your knees so your pelvis is on your heels.
  2. The spine is straight, strictly perpendicular to the floor, the shoulders are deployed. Eyes open. Tongue raised to the sky. Lips tight, breathing smooth. All reliance on your feet.
  3. Keeping a perfect posture, start swinging to the sides, left and right, while moving your stomach back and forth.
  4. “Swinging from side to side, we stand firmly on the ground,” says the treatise “Fukanzazengi”, which guides the teachings of Zen. Do this exercise for 10 minutes every morning and every evening and you will see what changes will happen to your body.
