For the sake of what cake the spouse invents new holidays and makes generous gifts

It happens that the refrigerator is full of minced meat, but you do not want to cook ordinary cutlets from it. For example, when there is a desire to surprise something bright and unusual guests. In such a situation, I usually get a festive cake of chicken fillets and carrots. It is easy to prepare it, but it looks elegant and tastes just amazing!

Holiday cake Ingredients
  • 700g chicken fillet
  • 1 large carrot or 2 small carrots
  • 2 bulbs
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • 4 eggs
  • 150-200g puff dough
  • dill
  • salt, pepper, Provencal herbs to taste
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil

Preparation
  1. Freeze the puff dough. Put two eggs to boil.
  2. Cut the onions, grind the carrots.
  3. Roast the vegetables in vegetable oil until soft. Vegetables can be spared. They give the finished cake a special juiciness.

  4. Pass the chicken fillet through the meat grinder.
  5. Cut dill and garlic fine.
  6. Add to the minced vegetables, spices, one egg, garlic and dill. Stir it to uniformity.

  7. Cover the pan with parchment paper. Put a glass in the center. Place mince around it and form a minced ring with flat edges.

  8. Peel the boiled eggs. Cut them in half. Put the eggs on top of the ring.
  9. Cut the layered dough with the curly strips that you'll use to decorate the cake. I used a cookie mold and cut the resulting figurines in two. Long stripes can wrap the ring so that it does not lose shape during baking.

  10. Use the yolk of the remaining egg to lubricate jewelry from the dough. I smeared the whole cake with yolk this time. In my opinion, it made its surface denser, but kept more juice inside.
  11. Bake the cake for 40-45 minutes in the oven heated to 180 degrees. Chicken broth can accumulate in the center of the ring. Use it to water the finished dish.
  12. Let the cake cool a little and serve it to the table. Delicious, of course, it will be warm, but cooling, as I noticed, it is better to cut into thin pieces.

  13. A juicy, fragrant and surprisingly delicious holiday cake is ready. Bon appetit!

Decorated with eggs, the cake is perfect, for example, to the Easter table. But without boiled eggs, as you probably guessed, it is quite possible to do. This will allow you to pay more attention to ornaments from dough, thanks to which the meat pie ring can be eaten even without bread.

One more thing. It is quite difficult to guess in advance how much dough you will need to decorate the cake. I had a pack of 500 grams and almost two-thirds of it left. In order not to disappear, from the remnants of dough and frozen cherries I made bagels with cherries.
