Preparations from garlic arrows, which will successfully replace expensive Italian seasonings

Garlic arrows are green shoots that subsequently mature and provide seeds for future plantings of garlic. Many gardeners throw away garlic arrows and do not realize that from green garlic you can prepare delicious snacks and full-fledged dishes. When I was a child, I used to visit my grandmother, who planted new crops in the garden every year. Garlic was no exception. Once I found my grandmother cooking fragrant oil. Homemade garlic oil was the most delicious snack I tried. This is one of my favorite recipes for making garlic arrows.



Homemade garlic oil A mixture of green garlic and vegetable oil is very tasty. Although garlic hands 20 years ago were not prepared for the good life, this recipe remains relevant today. Now natural butter is not found anywhere, and for a time of shortage of products is a good recipe. Garlic paste can be spread on bread or served to hot dishes. It is something like Italian pesto in Ukrainian style.

  • 500g garlic hands
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tbsp vegetable oil


Preparation
  1. Wash the garlic arrows and remove the excess moisture from them. Remove the hard parts of the arrows and cut the arrows into arbitrary pieces.
  2. Grind the arrows in a bowl of salt blender. Then add the vegetable oil and beat the blender again to uniformity.
  3. Move the finished mass in a sealed container and store it in the freezer. Done. A more spicy taste is obtained if you add lard to the garlic hands instead of oil. Bon appetit.

  • 1kg garlic hands
  • 1 liter of water
  • 4 tbsp vinegar

  • 2 tbsp sugar

Preparation
  1. Wash the arrows thoroughly and dry them with a paper towel. Then cut the arrows and seal them tightly into sterilized half-liter cans.
  2. Put the bay leaf and pepper peas in cans. Add 1 tbsp of vinegar to each jar.
  3. Mix the water with sugar and salt and bring it to a boil. Pour boiling water with garlic arrows and roll the can with sterilized lids. Done.





If you fry garlic arrows, they will be very different from the taste of garlic heads. Many taste like fried mushrooms. The dish is better absorbed and contains a lot of valuable vitamins, despite heat treatment. In 100 g of garlic hands contains 25 calories, the composition has vitamins: PP, C, D, A, vitamins of group B and E.

  • 1 tooth. Garlic
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • salt
  • peppery


Preparation
  1. Wash and dry the garlic arrows, then cut them.
  2. Add salt, pepper, garlic and lemon juice.
  3. Roast the arrows in a frying pan with vegetable oil until ready. Sesame seeds can be added if desired. Bon appetit.





Garlic arrows should be cut while they are still young - within 2-3 weeks. After that, the greens become hard and inedible. From garlic arrows you can prepare sauces, salads, snacks, stews and fried dishes. If this year’s crop of garlic arrows turned out to be good, freeze the garlic arrow for the winter in a vacuum package in the form of paste or sliced pieces of garlic arrows.
