- Orlova's diet
Lyubov Orlov is a sex symbol of the thirties in the USSR. When she first appeared on the screen, all the women literally went crazy. There were rumors that the girth of the actress was only 43 centimeters. It was at that time that the famous diet Orlova appeared: the secret thanks to which the actress maintained her slimness. It is not a fact, of course, that the author of the diet was the actress herself, and the fact that she adhered to it is also doubtful. But the popularity of this diet was not equal.
The diet was really extreme: two meals a day, namely: for breakfast a piece of bread and two eggs, for lunch - a little vegetables and 200 g of meat. The diet is extremely poor, and in addition, twice a week it was necessary to do fasting days on the water and without food. This version of the diet was common until the war, and in the sixties appeared a more gentle option.
This option suggested 4-5 meals, a more balanced menu and no fasting. In the diet at the same time, fish and meat were completely absent, and it was forbidden to eat all fried and fatty. Then there was a special rule: porridge can only be eaten in the morning.
For each product, there was a time of day: breakfast - porridge, lunch - vegetable soups, for afternoon you could eat some dairy products or fresh vegetables, and for dinner - fruits.

In 1930, the Institute of Nutrition was created, which was engaged in the development of diets for different categories of people. There were also created the famous "tables" - diets used in the treatment of various diseases. One of them was table number 8 for the treatment of obesity. Soviet nutritionists proposed to reduce calories consumed to 1,800 per day. To do this, the amount of fat and carbohydrates consumed was reduced, and food was served without salt and pepper, with a small amount of spices. Fried food was also banned. The meal was divided into 5-6 times a day.

This diet appeared in the sixties, and its authorship was attributed to the great ballerina of the twentieth century - Maya Plisetskaya. Whether that's true is hard to say. In one of the interviews, Plisetskaya, on the question of how to preserve the form, answered simply: “I’m not sitting there eating!” Indeed, the diet is very strict, however, among women at the time it was extremely popular. For long-term use, such a diet is not suitable, but a week is just right. The unloading part of the diet lasts seven days and involves three meals a day. Snacks were allowed, but only in the form of fresh vegetables and unsweetened fruits. Given the constant rehearsals, ballerinas managed to lose weight quite significantly this week. It is clear that with a more relaxed lifestyle, less will go away.
After the fasting diet, it was proposed to change the usual diet, including more low-calorie foods and increasing the amount of fish, fresh fruits and vegetables. It was recommended to increase the amount of fish in the diet and abandon salt.

Not the leaves were used, but the root of the plant in grated form. During the diet was allowed to eat cheese, cottage cheese, meat, eggs and kefir, but in small quantities. The basis of the diet was the root of parsley.
The menu looked something like this.
Breakfast: tea or coffee and a tablespoon of grated parsley root.
Lunch: 100 g of boiled meat and another spoonful of parsley.
