How to make Dutch Easter bread paasbrod

Paasbrood is a sweet bread that is traditionally baked in Holland on the eve of Easter. The Dutch call it.bread? The highlight of this dish is in an abundant filling of almond paste, candies and dried fruits.





Dutch kulich is completely different from our cakes, but can serve as an excellent addition to the festive meal. Checked out: it does not last long on the table.

Holiday Bread Ingredients for Opara
  • 2–3 tbsp starter starter
  • 200g wheat flour
  • 200g room temperature water


Test ingredients
  • 400g wheat flour
  • 200g leaven (opar)
  • 150 ml of milk
  • 50g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • pinch


Ingredients for almond paste
  • 150g peeled almonds
  • 100–150 g of sugar
  • juice
  • 2 yolks


Filling ingredients
  • 200g raisins
  • 50g dried cherry
  • 100g candied
  • 50g walnuts


Preparation
  1. To prepare ovary, put in a bowl 2-3 tablespoons of sourdough, add water, mix.


  2. Pour the sifted flour and stir it again. Cover the film and leave to mature until the opara increases in volume by 3 times.
  3. Heat the milk and add butter to it. Stir until the oil dissolves.


  4. Put the finished steam in a bowl and pour milk and butter. Stir until homogeneous, add egg, salt, sugar, sifted flour.


  5. Mix soft homogeneous dough. Put it in a bowl lubricated with vegetable oil, cover it with film and leave it for 3-4 hours.
  6. In the meantime, make almond paste. Pour raw almonds with boiling water, and after 30 minutes clean it of the skin. Grind the peeled almonds in a blender.


  7. Mix the crushed almonds with sugar, pour freshly squeezed lemon juice and two egg yolks. Stir it to uniformity.


  8. Soak the raisins in boiling water for 30 minutes, then dried on a paper towel. Cut the walnuts with a knife. Cut the dried cherries into small pieces. Mix in a bowl of dried fruit, candied fruit and nuts.


  9. Place the dough on the working surface sprinkled with flour. Roll it into a rectangular layer.
  10. Put on the dough stuffing of nuts, candies, raisins and cherries. Spread it over the surface.


  11. Fold the dough in several layers so that the entire filling is inside.


  12. Mix the dough. Sprinkle the flour, cover it and leave it for 10 minutes.


  13. Then lay the dough on the parchment and stretch your hands into an oval layer.
  14. Put almond paste in the middle of the layer. Cover the paste on both sides with a dough and gently pinch the edges.


  15. Carefully turn the blank kulich seam down. Put it together with the parchment on the pan. Leave it for 1 hour.
  16. Before baking, grease the cake with milk. Bake it in a preheated to 180 degrees oven for about 35 minutes.


  17. Another hot cake with butter. If you wish, you can sprinkle it with powdered sugar.


  18. Dutch dry-fruit ready. Bon appetit!
