However, dreams in adult life do not always have a place. After studying, Anne had to get a job as an ordinary cashier. Perhaps not the most enviable job for a dreamy girl, but not the worst. It was here that Anne met a rather pleasant young man, whose name was Franz Burda. It turned out that he had a small printing house. There was sympathy between the young people and after a while they got married.
The next two decades, Enne Burda diligently tried on the image of an ordinary housewife. She knew she was going to live her life differently. Her active nature demanded something more, but reality made her go with the flow. Her husband’s publishing business flourished and Anne was a respected woman. She also had three sons during this time.

However, changes came to her life when she might not have counted on them. Suddenly, it turned out that the exemplary husband spent money for years on the former secretary Elfrida, so that she could make ends meet at her publishing house.
Anne also learned that Elfrida even gave birth to a daughter to Franz. But the wife did not file for divorce and did not throw scandals (as far as is known). But she enlisted the support of her husband and with his help reissued the unprofitable publishing house of the rival for herself.

When she joined the publishing house in 1949, she was already 40 years old. She didn't know much about making magazines, and she didn't know much about sewing. But she knew she wanted to be a successful woman. She was also going to help other European girls who, despite the post-war devastation and poverty, wanted to dress beautifully and stylishly.
There was a lot of work, but Anne loved it. She communicated with tailors and photographers, understood the intricacies of the publishing business, was engaged in the design of the magazine and sought to meet the best specialists in her field.

The idea to invest in the magazine sheets with patterns, so that according to these samples, readers could sew themselves fashionable outfits, turned out to be ingenious. After all, competition magazines could only show beautiful outfits, but Burda Moden allowed you to create the same clothes as the beauties on the catwalk. Moreover, many women were able to sew, and the fabric for sewing was quite affordable. At the same time, ready-made clothes in the store were very expensive.

What can we say, if in 1987 it was the magazine of our current heroine that became the first Western edition that appeared in the USSR. In 1994, Burda Moden became the first European magazine to be published in China. Thus, Enna managed to transcend both fashion and political boundaries.
