A cake you can only afford for a big holiday

  • 700g flour
  • 250g butter
  • 150g sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 250g sour cream
  • 5g vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 50g coconut shavings
  • 100g walnuts


Filling ingredients
  • 500g cottage cheese
  • 180g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 200g cherry
  • 0.5 tbsp starch


Preparation
  1. Ask for flour in a deep bowl. Then add softened butter to it and break the mass with your hands into a flour homogeneous crumb.
  2. Now add sugar, baking powder and vanilla sugar to the dough. Stir it up again.



  3. Add eggs and sour cream to the dough, try to mix everything with a spatula until homogeneous. Then knead the dough with your hands. After that, wrap the dough in food film and leave in the refrigerator for an hour.



  4. Meanwhile, do the filling: mix fatty cottage cheese, eggs and sugar to a homogeneous consistency. It is best to whip the curd mass with a blender.



  5. Divide the dough into 3 parts. One part roll into a thin layer and lay out on a pan covered with parchment for baking.
  6. Fresh seedless cherries, drop in starch. You can use frozen berries, but then you will need to wait until they thaw, then drain the excess liquid.



  7. On the perimeter of the dough crust, make holes with a fork. Then lay out a layer of curd mass and level with a spatula.
  8. Put the berries in starch on the curd layer. Roll out the second piece of dough and put it on the berries. Well pinch the edges on the pie.



  9. Roll out the third piece of dough. Cut it into strips 1-2 cm wide. Diagonally put the strips on the cake and cut the excess at the edges.



  10. Mix egg yolk and 1 tbsp of milk. Grease the surface of the closed cake. Then bake the cake in the oven heated to 180 degrees to a golden crust for 45-50 minutes.
  11. While the cake is still hot, grease the top with honey. Between the strips in turn distribute coconut shavings and crushed walnuts.
