Noise at night because of neighbors with children became very disturbing, so I had to make one decision.

What to do if the constant noise of neighbors interferes with sleep at night? If you’ve never asked yourself that question, you’re a lucky person! Is it our reader Anna, who for six months never managed to get a good night's sleep due to the constant noise of new tenants who settled in front of her house?

How did the girl manage to keep her emotions under control for so long as not to upset her parents and what decision had to be made to fix the situation? Let's talk!

Before this friendly family settled in the house opposite, I never had trouble sleeping. I could literally fall asleep in a minute. Now I have to suffer in silence and wait until they deign to complete their next night's foray.

It's the same every time. Only the clock struck midnight, and immediately in the yard appears this family with a child and a dog. The dog barks, the child creaks swings, and the parents have fun talking about theirs. And I'm suffering from futile attempts to sleep, even though I have to wake up at 6 a.m. and go to work.

Is that why people with kids think they're allowed to do anything?

I am a completely non-conflict person, so I tried my best to avoid personal contact. At first, I hoped that this madness would end by itself. Then I thought someone else in the neighborhood would solve the problem. Couldn't have bothered me alone! But time passed and the situation remained unchanged. The family enjoyed a night out, and I struggled daily with the effects of chronic sleep deprivation.

In the end, the strength to endure it is no longer left. One day I made a firm decision that this could not continue. I started thinking about how I could solve my problem.

There were not many options. Talk to the child’s parents on their own or try to call the law. And since the second option promised to take up much more time and effort in the proceedings, I chose the lesser of two evils.

What a surprise I was when the neighbors I hated turned out to be nice and understanding people! After talking to them, I learned that night walks are the only time they can get together and discuss important issues. Due to the specific work of parents, there is no time left for this day. In addition, before they began to walk, the child often experienced sleep problems.

None of the neighbors complained about the noise, so they didn't know they were disturbing anyone. The child’s parents apologized and promised to keep quiet. A few days later, I discovered that the playground under my windows was empty. Apparently, the family found a more suitable time for a walk. So now I could finally sleep peacefully.

It shows how often we are held hostage to our thoughts. As it turned out, the problem could be solved in two counts. But before doing this, the girl independently brought herself to a critical state by negating the images of the impudent parents of a spoiled child invented by her. Has anything like this happened to you?
