Cabbage in a sleeve with meatballs The number of products can also vary. The amount indicated in this recipe is for preparing a dinner for a family of several.

Ingredients for meatballs
  • 700 g of meat (for minced meat)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion
  • 0.5 tbsp. rice
  • salt, pepper to taste
  • greens to taste


Ingredients for cabbage
  • 1 head of cabbage (about 2 kg)
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1-2 onions
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 tbsp. l. tomato paste
  • 0.5-1 tsp sweet paprika
  • salt, pepper to taste


Preparation
  1. Pass the meat through a meat grinder.



  2. Beat the egg into the minced meat. Salt, pepper and mix well.



  3. Add boiled rice and chopped onions and herbs with a knife. Form small meatballs. Place them on a kitchen board and put them in the freezer for a while.



  4. Chop the cabbage, coarsely grated carrots, cut the onion and pepper into strips. Combine vegetables together, add tomato paste, paprika, salt and pepper. Mix everything with your hands.



  5. Place the prepared cabbage in a roasting sleeve. You will also need a deep dish or baking sheet.



  6. Put the frozen meatballs on top of the cabbage, slightly deepening them inward. Tie a sleeve and cook in an oven preheated to 200 ℃ for about 1 hour.



  7. 10 minutes before the end of cooking, cut the sleeve to let the excess moisture come out.





Both cabbage and meatballs are tender, juicy - like steamed . And without excess fat! The dish is at least quite dietary, but satisfying . To it you can serve sour cream or homemade sauce of your choice. And, of course, fresh vegetables will come in handy.
