The story of an ungrateful daughter-in-law who does not want to give her mother-in-law the keys to the dacha

Not all of our good intentions are appreciated. It seems to us that we act noblely and selflessly, but the addressee of our impulses remains dissatisfied. That is what happened in our history today. The house in the village caused a quarrel in the family.

Editorial "Site" He's sharing this story with you. We leave the actions of the heroes to your fair trial.

My daughter-in-law recently inherited a small inheritance from her grandmother. Money is small, of course, you can not buy an apartment. But still the flow of money into the family. Children have long thought about how best to use this money. They decided to buy a house outside the city. I supported their decision. A dacha is beautiful. You can go there to rest. They will soon have a baby, and it is useful for fresh air.

They came up with an option that they could afford. They took a small old house in the village. What to say, the condition of the site leaves much to be desired. There's a lot of junk in the house. On the site you need to mow, cut down the bushes and dismantle the old shed. In general, there's more work to do. But who will do it is unclear. The daughter-in-law is demolishing, and the son won't go out of town.

Then I had the idea to help the children. I've been dreaming of a house in the country all my life. After my husband died, I wanted to leave the city. Concrete walls were putting pressure on me. I even thought about buying a cottage, but I could not raise money. So I thought I could go to the children's cottage, help with cleaning.

It wouldn't be hard for me to sort out the trash and clean up the precinct. With difficult work, my son could help. That would put the house a little in order. I liked the idea, I already made plans. I decided to share it with my son.

My son did not react too happily to my proposal. He said, “Mom, this is Oli’s house, I need to ask her.” I didn't like it right away. What's her dacha if they're family? But I still decided to call my daughter-in-law and ask in person. She refused. Said it was her dacha and she wasn't giving me the house keys.

To be honest, it really hurt me. She just does not understand that with a baby in her arms, she herself at that dacha will not do anything. And the son won't go there by himself. It seems that they are not in a hurry to do anything. Why did you buy it?

I don't understand why she wouldn't help me if I offered. I'm not claiming property, I just decided to support them. I am not a burden, I would please my soul, and help the children. I don't know how to convince them.

We think that the heroine of our history somehow prematurely set up plans. She had to ask first what the children planned to do with the property. And so she first set up plans, and then disappointed because of the refusal. A house in the village for a woman could be an outlet, but the daughter-in-law has other plans for it. Mother-in-law should try to understand her daughter-in-law. Although Olga should not have responded so sharply to her husband’s mother. Maybe they need to talk quietly again.

What do you think about that?
