Restaurant critic chews thoughtfully, because it is not a salad, but a silent delight

In the summer I want a simple and easy meal. Therefore, in contrast to the super-popular, but fatty and relatively difficult to prepare olive, vinaigrette and “coat”, I suggest preparing a fragrant salad from bread and tomatoes.

At first I thought it was too simple. It's like dipping vegetable oil and salt with bread from a plate. But after reading about the Tuscan panzanella bread salad, I realized: the pedigree of our recipe is what you need. Who knows better than Italians about delicious food?

Bread salad should be stale. If this is not found in the kitchen, you can leave a piece for the night on the plate. It'll dry overnight. Or dry the pieces of bread in the pan. Alternatively, sprinkle oil and bake in the oven.

Recall that the coolies for the world-famous Caesar salad are also baked in the oven or fried in a pan in olive oil with garlic.

The ingredients
  • 1 piece of black bread
  • 1 large tomato
  • 1 bulb
  • 0.5 red Bulgarian pepper
  • 3-5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp wine vinegar
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • dried Italian

Preparation
  1. Squeeze the juice from the tomato into the bowl. Cut the flesh in small pieces.

  2. Add to the tomato juice a spoonful of olive oil, salt and a pinch of Italian herbs.

  3. Cut the bread in pieces and dry it in a pan.

  4. Put the pieces of bread in the juice of the tomatoes and let them soak well.

  5. Cut the sweet pepper with small stripes, and the onions with semi-rings.

  6. For dressing, mix olive oil, wine vinegar, salt, ground pepper and Italian herbs.
  7. Put tomatoes, onions, peppers, soaked slices of bread and a dressing in a bowl.
  8. Send the salad to the fridge for half an hour to infuse.
  9. Bon appetit!

The simplest ingredients, but what a smell! Once again, I am convinced that a delicious dish does not have to be complex and expensive. What do you think?
