Why you need a stick in a package with dates and how to make candy from dates

Dates are advised to eat as a useful and natural substitute for purchased sweets. They can be eaten with a bite to tea or coffee, and you can also make candies from dates, oatmeal and other natural ingredients.

Candies from dates can be bought by weight or choose packaged in the store. Usually in the package you can find an unusual stick with teeth on the end. Many do not know its purpose and think that it is necessary only for aesthetics.



However, such a stick can be found not only in transparent packaging. In a cardboard box with dates, you'll find exactly the same one. This stick should be used in order to incite dates. Perhaps you are used to taking the product with your hands, but many do not like it. For example, when you have a snack at work and there is no way to immediately wash your hands of stickiness.

The ingredients
  • 200g boneless dates
  • 80g dark chocolate
  • 15g coconut shavings
  • 30g oatmeal
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp pastry sprinkle


Preparation
  1. Coconut shavings and oatmeal should be slightly roasted in a dry pan. 3 minutes on moderate heat will be enough.



  2. Let the mixture cool a little and put in a bowl of blender. Grind it to crumb. We can do dates. They need to be washed, dried and cut in pieces. After that, you can safely send them to the blender.



  3. Melt the chocolate in a steam bath and add to the mixture in a blender. Stir it well. If you like sweet treats, you should use milk chocolate instead of dark.



  4. Hands form small balls and fall in cocoa powder and coconut shavings. Leave the candy in the fridge for an hour. Bon appetit!
