This may shock you, but the organizational structures, such as tribes, societies and companies – the result is not highly developed intellect, but primitive survival instincts, backed by the neurotransmitters in the limbic area of the brain.



It would be a gross understatement to say that leadership and organizational behavior in the animal Kingdom just as successful. The planet is inhabited by millions of species of animals, and they all demonstrate the same behavioral patterns. This means that leadership is not so much a conscious process as instinctive behavior. It is evolutionary. It is largely responsible for our survival on earth. All the same, as with the imperatives of survival – to eat and multiply. That is why we do everything that we do. This is not a joke.

Therefore, when it is said that "Leaders lead, followers follow. It is impossible to do both" is not an invention. It's biology. Of course, you can behave the way you want, ignoring your natural survival instincts, but no one can change the behavior of an entire species. Everything was taken care of evolution.

This is primarily a behavioral phenomenon. So let's discuss the behavior that we generally appreciate in the most outstanding leaders.

THEY TEACH

IF THEY HEAR YOU, THEY WILL LISTEN IN every sphere – in politics, business or non-profit organizations all need a leader. Good leaders are hard to get. They build physical, organizational and mental barriers that allow you to block surrounding noise. However, their success depends on their openness to new diverse perspectives. So if they hear you, they will listen.

THEY set THEMSELVES CHALLENGES great leaders are never satisfied with the status quo. They can admit the team's success, especially after a long and hard work, but you rarely will see how they Pat themselves on the head. Admire them not for their achievements, and a new challenge.

THEY are not Real leaders don't fuss around. They find unusual, innovative solutions to large, complex problems – whether the problem is of a public nature, compound the problem, or the problem in dealing with customers. A real leader solves problems.

THEIR VISION INSPIRES OTHERS TO ACT



It is difficult to understand the endless debates about what leadership is and what is not. It's simple, really. A leader is someone followed by others. And leadership behavior inspires others to act. Their vision of the product, organization, people, the future is what inspires them to lead and others to follow them.

THEY do NOT COMPLAIN most of the great leaders grew up in misery at an early age and learned that their complaints will lead nowhere. Instead, they were motivated to prove something to themselves and others – that they are special, unique, worthy, able and that, as a rule, spell-realization.

THEY're NOT OVERLY ENCOURAGE THEIR EGO Even if it's not obvious, most successful leaders have a healthy ego – a strong sense of self. There are exceptions, but they are rare. In any case, when our ego is writing checks that reality can't cash out, it is a sign of self-limiting behavior. Some leaders learn from such mistakes and gain wisdom and humility. Others are not, and this does not lead them to success.

THEY DO ONLY WHAT is IMPORTANT Leaders are by definition people result. They are driven by their vision, their obsession, a problem which they should solve everything, but it's usually one or the other, and for them it is extremely important. They toppled the mountain to get what they want, and ignore everything else. Of course, this rule may be small exceptions.

THEY ARE EFFECTIVE, NOT PRODUCTIVE

The most important thing is to remember that leaders are defined by their behavior. What they are doing, and what they do not. The way they do and not do. The leader can be any size and any shape.
