Why sex sells
Scientists have explained how our brains affect babies, nudity and kittens in reklame.Psihologi and neuroscientists explain how the human brain perceives the naked body as it is affected babies, kittens and puppies on the Internet, as well as the role played by the female breast in the mechanism of love and product promotion.
About nudity
Man assesses the minds of other beings according to two criteria: a) the ability to feel and perceive, and b) the ability to think and act. These parameters are not equal. The more sensual / susceptibility we endow someone, the less appreciate the ability to think and act. And vice versa. It is a zero sum game.
What happens when a man takes off clothes? Researchers from Yale and the University of Maryland found that with the help of a series of experiments on his students. The subjects were shown photographs of two attractive young people - Erin and Aaron. One pair of images were their faces. The next Aaron was shown bare-chested, and Erin - in a bikini.
After looking at the photos of students were asked to characterize Erin and Aaron. In the questionnaire there were six questions. The researchers asked about the ability to think and act ("How do you assess his / her willpower? Moral qualities? Ability to plan?") And the ability to feel and perceive ("What kind of feelings he / she is experiencing? Pleasure? Famine? Desire?"). < br />
Answers to these questions are not talking much more about Erin and Aaron, but the subjects themselves. When you look at the top a couple of photos where you can see only those students evaluated Erin and Aaron in terms of the action. When you look at the body, they immediately switched to the senses. The same model, the same expression on their faces - but the perception has changed 180 degrees.
In another experiment, students were sent to a dating site, and people were asked to rate their attractiveness on the first and then for the intellectual and volitional qualities, both in hiring. The same thing happened: study participants rated people in the pictures or on the sensuality / susceptibility, or by intellect and will.
A similar phenomenon - feysizm - Psychologists have found out in the 80s. Feysizmom called the tendency of media men at the image focus on the faces and in the depiction of women - on their bodies. But people of any gender are associated with the first intellect and will, and the latter perceive as inanimate sexual objects.
If you dig deeper, you can recall the philosopher Kant, who said that those to whom directed our sexual appetite, to turn us into inanimate objects. Kant invented for this the term "objectification" (depersonification). In fact, everything is more complicated. According to scientists from the Universities of Yale and Maryland at the sight of a naked body is not depersonification and redistribution of perception. We still perceive the person as an animate being, but in terms of feelings: pain, pleasure, desire.
And though it's not as bad as described Kant and psychologists 80, redistribution of perception, too, has its consequences. The simplest example - the hiring of female boss-man. At the slightest sexual interest in a man loses the ability to assess the quality of the business woman. It's amazing how little we needed (just a piece of a naked body) to switch to another wave.
About women's breasts
Not so long ago neuroscientists Larry Young and Brian Alexander published a book «The Chemistry Between Us: Love, Sex, and the Science of Attraction». It tells a lot about what really lies behind our sexual behavior:

About women's breasts
Not so long ago neuroscientists Larry Young and Brian Alexander published a book «The Chemistry Between Us: Love, Sex, and the Science of Attraction». It tells a lot about what really lies behind our sexual behavior:
- Of all mammals, only males are driven from the human female breasts. A human female - the only ones whose breasts grow during adulthood, regardless of pregnancy. We are also the only ones who have sex face to face.
- The female breast as a switch male brain - not a myth and not a joke. When a female bust pleasure centers of the brain in men suppress the activity centers of rational thought.
- The love of women to men has evolved from a love for children. When a child is born in the brain of a woman released neurotransmitters dopamine and oxytocin. They stimulate the production of milk and produce a feeling of pleasure in the care of an infant. A person's voice and the smell of baby imprinted in the memory of the mother, and are associated with pleasant sensations.
When communicating with men works the same mechanism. Stimulation of the breasts during sex, oxytocin causes the release of dopamine and, as a result of the face, smell and voice of a partner is associated with pleasure. There is (or enhance) the feeling of love.
About kittens and babies
The Internet has changed the life of the entire planet. Thanks to him, we have e-mail, remote operation, online shopping, torrents and viral advertising. And trillions of images and video devastatingly cute kittens, puppies and babies. What good are they, in addition to serving good mood?
In 2009, Japanese scientists at the University of Hiroshima accidentally discovered that the images of infants and young animals increase the concentration. They rechecked their hypothesis using three experiments and found that it really is. Children's images evoke reflex reaction of emotion, mood rises, and this in turn leads to an increase in concentration.
So if you're caught for paging touching images instead of working, you can in good conscience say that doing cognitive self-tuning.
