Ukrainian palyanka without yeast on soda: a recipe for a generous hostess

Ukrainian flour is a round and flat bread made of wheat flour. Bake it usually without yeast, on soda. At the same time, the palyanica was considered a festive meal, because the rest of the time bread was baked from rye flour.



Now the recipe has become relevant again. The reason is that the traditional dish is easy to cook in a pan, without yeast, from the simplest foods, which is especially important in these difficult times.

Ukrainian Flag Ingredients
  • 500ml kefir
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 800g flour
  • 1 tsp salt top
  • 1 tbsp vinegar

Preparation
  1. Mix in a bowl of kefir, sugar, salt, favorite spices and extinguished vinegar soda.
  2. Add the flour and start mixing the dough.


  3. Cover the dough in a bowl with a towel and leave it for 10 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into equal parts depending on the size of the pan. These ingredients should be enough for 5 pieces of 15 cm in diameter. But your cakes may be smaller in diameter. Here, as they say, who is more comfortable to cook and eat.


  5. Form from each part of a round paler with the thickness of a finger.


  6. Remove the excess flour from it and send it to the heated pan. The burner fries without a drop of oil. Therefore, you need a pan with a good non-stick coating.


  7. Cover the lid and roast on a small fire on both sides.
  8. In the course of cooking, the palyanice grows significantly and becomes lush.
  9. Finished cakes put a pile on top of each other. Then cover with a clean towel to make them soft and let them cool.
  10. Previously, this ancient Ukrainian dish was lubricated with honey or butter. Sometimes served with sour cream, ghee, fried onions, rubbed with garlic.
