The treat of pumpkin this autumn turned out to be so successful that even my husband did not notice how he ate half a can of candy from an unloved pumpkin. In fact, the candy is delicious. The ingredients
  • 800g pumpkin
  • 400g sugar
  • 100 ml of water
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • peel
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar


Preparation
  1. Clean the pumpkin from the peel and cut it with cubes measuring 1 cm. Don't cut the pumpkin too big, or it will dry for a long time.



  2. In a pot with a thick bottom, pour sugar and pour it with 100 ml of water. Add to the sugar mixture the juice of half the lemon and stir the mass so that the sugar dissolves. When the syrup boils, boil it for another 5 minutes on a medium heat.



  3. The syrup should be golden in color. Now pour the raw pumpkin with hot syrup, add the orange or mandarin peel and cinnamon and cook the pumpkin over medium heat until boiled.
  4. After boiling the liquid, boil the pumpkin for another 5 minutes. Then take it off the fire and cover it. When the pumpkin is completely cooled, you need to boil it in syrup 3 more times until it becomes soft. 98



  5. Put the pumpkin on a sieve and let the syrup drain. After that, spread each piece on a pan, covered with baking paper.
  6. Sushi candy from pumpkin in the oven at 100 degrees 2-3 hours. Then collect the candied fruit from the razor and dump them in a mixture of starch and powdered sugar.





You can store candy in a jar or container at room temperature with a tightly closed lid. And pumpkin syrup should be put in the refrigerator.
