Why is marriage more beneficial to men than women?
The stereotype that the only desire of most girls is to jump out and get married, gradually disappears into oblivion. Does a young woman really need a marriage? What has changed in the last ten years?
Numerous clichés that relate to marriage, not developed out of nowhere. At one time, survival in this world depended only on the brute physical strength and power that were in the hands of men. It was quite difficult for women to get a high-paying job and provide for themselves, not to mention offspring. Because of this tradition, the family was provided by a man and the need for marriage for a woman was quite high.
But now society is changing rapidly. Many women earn far more than men. There is work that can be done at home, even with a child. Accordingly, the rights of men and women have been equalized in many respects, and marriage has ceased to be so significant.
Previously, a single mother was waiting for a bleak future, because providing for herself and the child was almost impossible. Now, having a good education and the ability to fully manage their own finances, it is quite realistic to raise a son or daughter on their own.
Many sociologists in the course of research have come to the conclusion that in the modern world, marriage brings more benefits to a man than a woman. The wife now not only earns and gives life to the next generation. It also provides emotional support to everyone in the family. For example, it has long been proven that married men live a little longer and their health is much better.
But from women, stressful family life requires too much. The desire to develop in a career plan along with the need to be a good mother and wife can drain emotional and mental reserves. This is especially true for perfectionists who want to devote themselves to every area of their lives, to invest all their energy to get the best result.
Should I give up marriage altogether? I don't think so. Rather, it is necessary to change some of the foundations and perception of this concept. For example, stop condemning those who voluntarily decided to abandon the creation of traditional cell. Although the functions of women in the family are already equal to the roles of men, equality of rights can not be observed in every family.
Perhaps it is necessary to partially revise the traditional duties of men in the family. It's both domestic and emotionality. For example, many still divide housework into male and female. Although everyone has long known that all this work is quite hard and it should be divided equally if a woman works like a man.
