How to massage a newborn?

Massage is an indispensable procedure for the prevention and treatment of diseases in children. It helps the baby to feel his body, and therefore learn to use it and develop properly. Massage can be used from the first month of life. It is best to do this procedure at a time when the baby is full (but not earlier than an hour after feeding) and calm, or tuned for games. And if during the massage, your child cries and hurts – transfer the action to another time or even day.

The room should be well ventilated, and where the child will lie - covered with a natural diaper. Mom must remove all her rings and bracelets, wash and warm her hands. In order for the baby to feel as comfortable as possible during the massage, be sure to lubricate the palms with baby oil. At the same time, all your movements should be careful and very gentle. Basically, massage starts with the feet. Massage the legs in turn, starting with the thigh in the direction of the foot. First, you need to gently stroke the legs of your baby, then make rubbing movements. Massage of the foot should begin with its gentle stroking. Then rub the rubbing movements from the heel to the thumb. Then you need to stretch each finger separately. There is one feature in the procedure with the leg. Here it is important to press your finger on the base of the fingers of the little one so that he squeezes the leg.

Thus, you do the prevention of flat feet first, and secondly check the presence of a reflex. Back massage also has its own characteristics. First, the baby is placed on the tummy. Smooth, soft movements massage the back of the baby - from the bottom up, in the direction of the shoulders. The movements are the same – first stroke, then rub. Massage the hands of the baby in turn with two hands in the direction from the shoulder to the wrist. Do not forget to play with every finger of your child.

And of course, you can not forget about the tummy massage, which improves the general condition of the child, promotes good digestion, reduces gases and spasms, can relieve colic. It is done very simply - in circular movements, clockwise stroke the baby's tummy. At the end of the robots, lift the legs of the child and slightly press them against the tummy - this will help relax the abdominal muscles. Then stroke your crumb several times in the direction from the neck to the toes. And most importantly, do a massage with love, do not forget to talk to the baby and do everything to ensure that all your movements were crumb to joy.
