A recent study, which was published in the world famous journal "European Journal of Clinical Nutrition" showed that in subjects with elevated cholesterol who consumed probiotic supplements twice daily for nine weeks, total cholesterol decreased by 10%, and "bad" — almost 15%.

 





"Probiotics decrease the amount of cholesterol that the body produces and reduce its absorption from the intestines. Moreover, less cholesterol enters the bloodstream," says Mitchell Jones, MD, one of the authors of the experiment.

 





Eating foods that are rich in probiotics ( e.g., yogurt ) provides Your body with nutrients (protein and calcium), which may not provide regular food supplements.
