New electric bike "MIG" from Russian students
A team of enthusiasts from the University of Mechanical Engineering (MAMI) in Moscow, as part of the competition, built an electric-powered moped, where it took 1st place in the overall standings and took a separate prize for dynamic tests, since this moped was faster than the serial German apparatus of the company sponsoring the event Elmoto.
In the process of creating the MIG-1 electric bike, students and postgraduates of various specialties and from different courses participated. It was necessary to first decide on the concept of the future bike, conduct market research, and then design a 3D model in the Avtodesk Inventor of all nodes. Only then the drawings of the parts went to manufacture and purchased bicycle components, at the same time economists actively joined the work of engineers, who calculated the cost of launching a series of mopeds in the first 3 years, and in parallel with this they did the calculation of the cost of the moped on the fact of creation.
As parts made according to the drawings and bought in the store appeared, the assembly process took place. A frame made of sheet steel was cooked and a pendulum made of steel pipes, the electrician collected all the electronics, the carbon kit was also glued independently under vacuum, according to pre-skinned master models.
