A simple recipe energy bar
Energy bars are ideal to take with you to the gym or for a walk. However, being purchased in the store, these snacks not only have a decent price, but not always can be useful, and on the contrary, can contain a lot of sugar and not the desired ingredients.
So the best option is to make energy bars yourself. The following recipe will allow you to quickly cook your protein-enriched snacks using nuts, dried fruit and cereals.
Pack the bars into bags or containers and you will get a great addition to your Breakfast or lunch, and, of course, a great "refueling" before or after a workout.
So, you will need: 700 grams of chopped dates;
3 tablespoons maple syrup;
1 tablespoon vanilla;
2 tablespoons orange zest or;
¼ Tablespoon orange extract;
½ Tablespoon sea salt;
¼ Tablespoon allspice;
1 tablespoon cardamom;
half a Cup of dried berries or dried fruit;
half a Cup of crushed walnuts, pecans or almonds;
half a Cup of your favorite granola or toasted oats.
Recipe: 1. Finely chop dates and mix them with maple syrup, vanilla, zest, salt and pepper.
2. Add dried berries, nuts, granola and stir until then, until you do not get enough solid mass.
3. Put the mass on a lightly greased baking sheet and flatten so that the layer had a thickness of approximately 2 centimeters.
4. Put in the refrigerator for 15 minutes and then cut into bars.
The combination of all these ingredients will enrich your protein bars and make them the perfect pre - or post-workout fuel, while many store-bought options can be not only expensive, but also not so healthy and nutritious. One tray will give you a supply of energy snacks for the whole week.
