Each of us are faced with the problem of red eyes. It occurs in people of all ages. However, in each case, the cause of the ruptured blood vessels need to install with your doctor. This can be a common office syndrome, and perhaps infectious disease.

As told ophthalmologist Dmitry Maichuk, the term "syndrome of the red eye" was invented by the Americans to simplify the name for all infectious diseases of the eye. That is, is an artificially created concept that includes a wide range of ophthalmic diseases of different nature, United by the presence of only one symptom is redness of the eyes caused by dilation of superficial blood vessels.

There are two state – sharp, when the bright red eyes can fester, tear, cause pain and stinging. Then patients immediately seek medical attention. Is the chronic state when the eye is red, maybe a little to scratch herself, but the condition is painless and not much worried. In such cases, access to a doctor patients can postpone. And it is fraught with consequences.

Diseases included in the term "syndrome of the red eye": stye, blepharitis, podklyuchenie hemorrhage, keratitis, conjunctivitis (viral, bacterial or allergic), scleritis, iridocyclitis, dacryoadenitis or amenity, acute attack of glaucoma, swollen enophthalm.

However, it happens that the eyes become red from time to time. The most common causes in this case can be:

• physical effects – contact with eyes the particles of dust, sand, smoke, cosmetics, etc., improper use of contact lenses, sunlight, any eye injury;
• chemical effects (chlorinated water, cosmetic preparations, Soaps, chemical reagents, household chemicals, etc.)
• insomnia;
• fatigue from working at the computer;
• an allergic reaction.

If your eyes become red due to constant work at the computer, there is another term the so-called "dry eye syndrome" or "office syndrome". This term is also coined by the Americans.

Symptoms – redness, fatigue, dryness, sensation of "sand" in the eyes.

Provoke such symptoms of prolonged computer work, air-conditioning and office allergens. The tear film covering the thin layer of the surface of the eye, serves as a lubricant between the eye and eyelids. But under the influence of external factors it can thin. As a consequence – discomfort and eye fatigue.
