The basics of fasting

The term "fasting", we mean a voluntary and complete abstinence from all food, except water. "Crushed small meals, says Dr. Paige H, — are not fasting. You can't take a crumb, except water, which is consumed in small SIPS from time to time and depending on desire". We don't use the word "starvation" to indicate, for example, diet from fruit juice. Write about fasting while the child is sitting on the fruit. This means that the food is fruit and it is fruit diet. Hunger and nutrition are not identical processes.

Fasting — a holiday, a physiological vacation. This is not a severe test and not a punishment. It is a cleaning measure that deserves to be far better known and more widely used.
Next, we briefly review the most important of the conditions under which it is starving, and the reasons why he does it.

Fasting as a disciplining factor
Says Dr. William Getchell, "fasting is nothing new. Among the ancients it was recognized as an excellent method of achieving and maintaining the best mental and physical activity. The two greatest Greek philosopher and teacher Socrates and Plato regularly fasted for ten days at a time. Regularly starved another Greek philosopher, Pythagoras, who before the exam in Alexandria University starved for forty days. He demanded from his disciples before entering his class of forty-day starvation".

Periodic and annual fasting
In the gospel of Luke mentions the practice of one-day fasting every week, which in his day was probably very common. Intermittent fasting was practiced by many "peoples and individuals. Claim that the ancient Egyptians had a custom of fasting a short time — about two weeks every summer. Many do it today; every year, they go hungry a time or two. Others follow the custom of the mentioned bows, fasting one day every week. Others are starving every month for three to five days. Different people practice periodic fasting takes different forms. Usually this is just a brief hunger strike, but they always bring a distinct advantage.

Instinctive fasting
Although one of the first things which Nature creates with a man in acute disease, is the cessation of all desire food, well-wishers — friends of the patient to encourage it to eat. They bring him a delicious tempting dishes to satisfy the taste and to excite the appetite. But the biggest thing they sometimes succeed is to get him to eat a few pieces. The ignorant physician may insist that he ate "to maintain forces." But Mother Nature, which is wiser than any of the living ever doctors, goes on to say: "do Not eat". A sick man, not able to work, complains of lack of appetite. He doesn't like the food. This is a consequence of the fact that his natural instincts know what to eat in this case means the usual way to strengthen a disease. The person usually believes that the loss of appetite is a big disaster and seeks to restore it. In this he was helped by the doctor, relatives and friends who also mistakenly believe that the sick must eat to keep your strength up. The doctor prescribes a tonic and sakarlal the patient and, of course, worsens his condition.

In acute disease, in particular, the ability for a long period of time without food is very important for man, because he apparently suffers from a disease much more than lower animals. In this state, when, as will be shown below, no energy for digestion and assimilation of food, he is forced to rely on their inner reserves that he, like the lower forms of life, holds within itself the nutritional reserves that can be used in an emergency or in the absence of receipt of new substances.

Autolysis
To represent what occurs in the starving body, it is necessary to understand the process of autolysis, which, being very common in nature, nevertheless usually ignored by physiologists. Earlier we mentioned that vital and functioning of tissues and organs starving body fed by food resources accumulated in the body. These reserves accumulate as a pretty complex substances, such as sugar (glycogen), fats, proteins, etc., and suitable for inclusion into the bloodstream and used by cells no more than fats, proteins and carbohydrates other food.
Sylvester Graham was the concept of the process of autolysis, and its use for disease. He believed that a General law of organic life is that if in any way or for any reason, the catabolic processes prevail over anabolic processes, the body always catches and removes those substances which have the least need of him. For this reason, he said, all pathological formations like cysts, tumors, abscesses, etc. quickly diminish and often completely disappear during hard and prolonged abstinence from food, fasting.

The distribution of substances in the body
Severely wounded animal refuses to eat. And yet his wounds heal. A huge amount of blood flowing to the wound, is a large volume of food delivered to this place. The blood distribution is a mediator in all higher forms of life. Starving the animal uses its reserves of nutrients to restore torn or cut tissues. These substances autosizerows first and then go to the part of the body where they are needed. The body can not only distribute its food supplies but also to redistribute them. He has the ability to move their chemical elements, and fasting gives it a examples. Autolysis and makes possible such a transfer.

The ability to redistribution of nutrients and resources is inherent in all forms of life. This ability acts as a permanent protection in case of damage, except in cases of the most prolonged hardships
It is interesting to note that control autolysis also applies to pathological tissues like tumours, deposits, effuse, etc. and is not restricted to normal tissues. The fact that autolysis is strictly controlled, and not a natural process, is to ensure that vital organs will not be sacrificed, even during prolonged abstinence from food.

From the above clearly reveals three important factors:

Due to the presence of intracellular enzymes the body is able to metabolize its own proteins, fats and carbohydrates. The body can completely control the process of digestion and strictly limits its non-essential and less essential tissues. Even with exhaustion, when vital tissues are destroyed, there is a strict control over this process and these tissues continue to be consumed accordingly to their importance. The body is able to dispose of the final products of autolytic disintegration of its own tissue to supply its most important and essential parts. The autolytic disintegration of tumors
Dr. Troll asserted that all abnormal growths possess a lower level of vitality than normal growths, and because they are easier to destroy. Equally, I think it is also true that they are not running support body as they do not have any nerves, blood supply. This lack of support makes them ready prey to autolytic processes in the body. Highly experienced in fasting people claim that the abstinence from food abnormal tissue are destroyed and eliminated quicker than normal. Physiologists have studied the process of autolysis, although did not offer any practical use, except to reduce weight. Physiologists have to understand that using strictly controlled autolysis, the body is able to digest tumors and use proteins and other food elements contained in them, to supply their vital tissues.

Why don't they investigated this crucial issue? But the world knew about these facts over a hundred years. One hundred and thirty years ago Sylvester Graham wrote: "the Common law of a living organism is that, when the decay function is superior to the function of creation or the power of decomposing absorbents always first capture and remove those substances which have the least benefit to the body because all the harmful accumulation like Wens, tumors, abscesses, etc. quickly diminished and often completely removed in strict and prolonged abstinence from food or starvation".

The process of autolysis can be given much practical benefit, and it can be used for getting rid of tumours and other formations. To fully understand this, the reader needs to know that tumors are composed of flesh, blood and bones. There are many names of different tumors, and the names themselves indicate the type of tissue that makes up the tumor. For example, an osteoma consists of a bone myoma — muscle, a neuroma from nerve, lipoma — adipose, fibroma — fibrous, epithelioma — epithelial, etc. Education this nature technically known as neoplasms (tumors) to distinguish them from ordinary blisters and bumps. Large bump on chest may not be more than as extended or enlarged lymph gland breast. This increase the glands can be very painful, but not to be a neoplasm. The tumor, being of the same tissue type as other organismic structures that are vulnerable to autolytic disintegration as normal tissue and affected, as experience shows, dissolving and absorption under different circumstances, but especially when fasting. The man who can understand how fasting reduces the amount of fat in the body and how it reduces the size of the muscles, and can imagine how it reduces the size of the tumor or makes it disappear altogether. He just need to realize that the process of disintegration (autorisatie) of the tumor is much faster than in normal tissue.

Because of the variety of circumstances, some known, some not — the speed of resorption of tumors from starving different. General condition of the patient, the amount of excess in the body, type of tumor, its hardness or softness, localization, age of patient — all this is known to affect the rapidity of the disappearance of the tumor.

The elimination of the tumor by the method of autolysis has several advantages over surgical removal. Surgery is always dangerous, autolysis is a physiological process and does not carry danger. Surgery always reduces the life activity and thus exacerbates the distortion of metabolism, which is behind the tumor. Fasting, which accelerates the autolysis of the tumor, normalizes nutrition and allows you to remove accumulated toxins, thus helping the elimination of the causes of the tumor. After surgery, the tumors tend to return. After their autolytic eliminate the tendency to recurrence small. Often after surgery, the tumor returned in a malignant form. Fasting eliminates the tendency to malignancy.

I can't give no definite information about bone tumors and tumors on nerve tissue. But because these tumors are subject to the same laws as other tumors, I am inclined to think that they can be autorizovany as effectively as other tumors. In my own experience, I watched when fasting, numerous fibroids of the uterus and breast, lipomas in various parts of the body, a number of epithelia, a series of fibroids and several tumors in early stage cancer has authorityrules and resolved. I saw during the fasting disappeared warts, but many wart starvation, apparently, had no influence. I've never seen the process of fasting influenced the mole. I saw starvation devastated several cysts, and in some cases simply reduced their size. Remember that Graham mentioned the resorption of the cyst with the help of fasting.

The limits of autolysis
The process of autolysis definitely has its limits. For example, in the case of tumor, allowed to grow to such large proportions that it took several lengthy fasts for two years or more with strict schedule of food between fasts, to destroy it and absorb it, if at all possible to do.

But really, there are some conditions under which this can be a fact for large tumors. However, except for large tumors, this is hardly possible in any curable case. This can take place only in rare cases when the size of the diseased tissue is very large and when all these cases are probably incurable. Healthy tissue generally are not as fast as the patients, and the tumor is "exhausted" before the body. With the exception of cases when the tumor is very large, you can be sure that in all other cases, the hunger will return before it can harm vital organs. Not just for cancer, when to reduce the pain taken drugs, I've seen that three - or four-day fasting brings relief.

It should be noted another limitation of the tumor localization which blocks the lymphatic flow, continue to grow (due to eating beyond their lymph), despite the fasting.

In cases where complete resolution is not achieved, the tumor is significantly reduced to a size that do not pose a threat to the organism. Subsequent needs and lifestyle will prevent its further growth. We observed a number of cases where the result of a healthy lifestyle after fasting came in fact a further reduction of the tumor.

Fasting is not fatal exhaustion
The word "starwars" (depletion) comes from the old English "stearman", which meant "to die". Today it is used almost always to refer to "death from lack of food." When we say the ordinary man, and even ordinary doctor about fasting, he immediately draws a picture of the terrible consequences which he thought must inevitably occur due to the deprivation of his food even for a few days. Physiologists, physicians, biologists, other professionals who would know better and be more precise when using the terms "fasting" ("fasting") and "exhaustion" ("starwars") are also to blame for the entanglement of these two terms. Members of the "academic profession" is usually used these terms as synonyms, thereby helping to perpetuate this misconception. It is really so. But in discussing this question with physiologists and other scientists, I saw that they were short-sighted and just not able to draw a clear distinction between the two processes.

Rationale of starvation
We take fasting in the name of the ultimate good and have the right to require that result, for which we are starving, definitely justified the means to achieve it. Male or female, who will decide whether to starve or not to starve — is entitled to ask what will I benefit from the fact that I refuse gustatory pleasures?

Before you start fasting, we have the right to ask: "Why should I have to starve?", as well as the right to expect that came out of it something worthwhile and continuous acquisition. The fact that a person or animal is starving, and even for a long time, although in the highest degree interesting, but by itself is not sufficient grounds for starvation. Fasting is useless if not useful.

The above detailed four important time of fasting, namely:
a) fasting as physiological rest gives the tissues and organs the opportunity for restoration, renewal and replenishment. Damaged organs regenerate, worn, and diseased cells are rejected and removed;
b) fasting as physiological rest allows one to regain their lost energy;
C) fasting, because it causes the body to rely on internal reserves, and promotes elimination (by autolysis) growths, abscesses, deposits, effuse and frills. Last thoroughly "audited" and useful components are used to power the vital tissue, and useless are removed from the body;
g) fasting through these and related processes allows the body to repair itself significantly. Physiologically, it is rejuvenated. Its functions are improved, structures are updated, and the suitability increases.
