How to cook herring in Dutch

Adopt recipe herring in Dutch. These banks are emptied at a time! This fish on the table is swept away in the first place. Very suggest!



  • The fresh-frozen herring — 2 PCs.,
  • Onions — 2 PCs,
  • Lemon — 0,5 PCs,
  • Sugar — about 6 teaspoons,
  • Salt — 4 tsp,
  • Carrot — 1 PC.;
  • Bay leaf — 10-12 PCs
  • Black pepper — 8-10 peas (coarsely ground)
How to cook:

Lemon cut into thin slices.

Carrots three on a coarse grater.

Cut onion into rings.

Put layers in a jar: the bottom is a little rings of onions, Bay leaf, a pinch of carrot, a slice of lemon, 0.5 tsp. sugar, a pinch of pepper.

Top — a layer of herring.

Then again, vegetables and spices.

And so alternate layers, periodically pressing down until you get to the top of the jar.

Now close tight lid and put into the fridge.

On the second or third day, the herring ready.

Thus prepared herring turns out tender, sweet, juicy and very, very tasty.

When serving, you can pour vegetable oil and a little salt.
