Herring under a white coat: a new look at your favorite recipe
It so happened that this recipe is very popular and there are friends who simply do not understand if the table is not “under the fur coat”. For the first time “under the coat” I had to try the aunt, who cooked it without beets and carrots, only much later learned that the real herring “under the coat” is with beets, etc.

If you use a flat dish as in this recipe, then you will have to carefully distribute the grated (crushed with a grater or egg cutter) products along the edges of the previous layers so that they do not form a “slide” in the center. You can also use a steel ring (see photo), which should be laid with parchment (cut the tape from parchment), so it will be easier to remove the ring. And in general, it is better after all the layers are laid, put the ring in the refrigerator, after cooling, remove the ring and then carefully remove the parchment so that the salad does not crumble.
Cube the potatoes. Eggs can be grated, and you can pass through the egg cutter (in this case, an egg cutter was used (net see photo).
