Particularity: recipe for Greek orange cake

Incredibly tender cake of puff pastry — Filo pastry with oranges and orange juice. Greek pie Particularity.





 

For the syrup

  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 400 g sugar
  • 350 ml of water
  • 1 orange
The dough

  • 5 eggs
  • 100 g sugar
  • 3 oranges
  • 500 g phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 200 g thick natural yoghurt (or sour cream)
  • 180 ml olive oil
Prepare the syrup, squeeze the juice from the orange. In a saucepan pour the orange juice, water, add sugar, cinnamon and half orange. Put the saucepan on the fire and cook for 8-10 minutes, then turn off the heat and let the syrup cool while you prepare the pie. The form of a 20x30 cm, grease lightly, crumble sheets of phyllo directly into the form. Half of the orange cut into thin slices for decoration, with the remaining oranges grate the zest and squeeze the juice. Yogurt mix with sugar, add orange zest, olive oil and orange juice. Add the eggs and baking powder and whisk a few minutes. Pour the batter into the form and mix gently with a spoon to evenly distribute the weight. Put the orange segments. Pie put in the oven, bake at 180 for about 45-50 minutes. Hot cake immediately pour the cooled syrup and leave for 1 hour so that the syrup is absorbed. Bon appetit! .
