What if major metropolitan areas covered only bright starlight? That is how our world would look like!

How long have you looked at the starry sky? What if all the cities in the world covered by billions of bright stars, and that would be enough to quietly walk around the city streets at night? Eliminate from the face of the Earth active night illumination, destroy dirty, clean air - and you get the perfect picture of the universe, like a fantastic light show.

French artist and photographer Thierry Cohen managed to portray a seemingly utopian picture, which intertwined existence of cities and megacities clear night sky. «By combining the two realities, I was able to create a third, which you have not seen ... But it exists!» i> - says Cohen.

Cohen photographed city in the afternoon and then with the help of photographic darkened captured images. Also, the photographer recorded the exact location and the angle at which the picture was taken, with the help of complex mathematical calculations to determine when he will be able once again to contemplate the same part of the sky, but only pristine corners of our planet. Then he combined the two resulting snapshot - and voila!

At first, it sounds almost absurd, but you yourself are perforce to believe that it is still possible when you look at a project called "Blackout City"! When would you still saw the major cities of the world at night without artificial light?
