Why Vyacheslav Tikhonov was called a great hermit
Actor Vyacheslav Tikhonov One of the biggest stars of Soviet cinema. And even though his filmography is quite outstanding work, but the audience, as it often happens, remember the actor mainly for the most significant role.
And in the case of Tikhonov, of course, we are talking about the role of the scout Isayev-Stirlitz in the cult film “Seventeen Moments of Spring”. By the way, for this role, the actor received a fee of 5500 rubles, and without any subsequent payments.
The other day we have already talked about the creative path of Vyacheslav Tikhonov, about his debut in cinema and progress to all-Union recognition. But fans of the actor’s great talent are probably interested in what was happening in his personal life and why he was so lonely in his old age.
Actor Vyacheslav Tikhonov Nothing foreshadowed that a simple guy from an ordinary working family would be associated with theater and cinema. The parents of the future actor lived 60 kilometers from Moscow in the small town of Pavlovsky Posad. My father worked as a mechanic at a local weaving factory, my mother worked as a teacher in a kindergarten. The young family lived in the same house with their parents, so little Slava had a special connection with his grandparents.
He studied well, he was good at mathematics and physics, he liked history. But Tikhonov was not an exemplary child. He could pick apples with his friends in the neighbor's garden, could sneak from adults and indulge in tobacco. And once even got a tattoo with the name “Glory” on his hand. Later, I really regretted that stupidity. And all his life he hid the tattoo either with makeup or with gloves.
The beginning of the war put an end to a carefree life. The school was converted into a hospital. And 13-year-old Vyacheslav went to get the profession of turner in a craft school. And very soon he began to work at the factory, where, along with adults, he performed defense orders, making his contribution to the approach of the end of the war.

However, even in the most difficult times, the guy found solace in the movie. Together with friends in his spare time he ran to the local cinema. And enjoyed such iconic films of that time as “Chapai”, “Two fighters”, “Deputy of the Baltic”, “Big Life”...
The young man watched the actors play and dreamed that one day he would also be on the other side of the screen. The movie attracted Tikhonov, and he was already seriously thinking about the profession of an actor.
Although the parents hoped that the son would become a respected engineer or agronomist. He almost gave in to the pressure of his relatives. He even took a preparatory course on his way to the Automechanical Institute. But then he got stubborn.
After studying for a year, Vyacheslav told his family that he decided not to become an engineer, but an actor. The family was strongly opposed, but on the side of the grandson was the grandmother. She supported the aspirations of the guy, and soon he went to the competition in VGIK. However, there Vyacheslav was recognized as “not sufficiently photogenic”.
However, Boris Bibikov managed to see something special in the young man and later enrolled him in his course. In the end, the teacher was not mistaken, because Tikhonov was a very diligent student, graduated with honors. And then successfully took advantage of the opportunities and soon became a famous and sought-after actor.

After 5 years, Tikhonov married for the second time. His chosen one was a French translator named Tamara (younger than 16 years). They worked together on the translation of the Oscar-winning film Man and Woman.
And in 1969, Vyacheslav Vasilyevich became a father for the second time. By the way, the daughter Anna also graduated from VGIK, became an actress. And in 2005, she gave birth to twins George and Vyacheslav (the boys were named after their grandfathers).
However, in the second marriage, everything was not smooth. Tamara carefully controlled her husband, forbade to see his first wife and son Vladimir. Even on the set in love scenes Tikhonov was forced to ask permission from his wife. Almost every day he reported to his wife even for where and with whom he was, what he was doing.

With the son of all beloved actor could see only secretly. Sometimes they met right in the garage. When the life of 40-year-old Vladimir ended (the cause was heart failure), Vyacheslav Vasilyevich was terribly worried and blamed himself for this loss.
“I remember how surprised everyone was that Tikhonov did not attend Nonna’s funeral. I thought God was his judge. And then I remembered his crazy Tamara. I am sure that it was the work of her hands, recalled Mordyukova’s sister Natalia.
The relationship with Tamara really broke down - they lived together but didn't even talk. Rumor has it that the woman was fond of strong drinks, a lot of scandal, even divided the house into two parts. Daughter Anna sided with her mother.

The last years of his life, actor Vyacheslav Tikhonov was insanely lonely and forgotten by everyone. His only friend was a dog named Stepa, with whom he could walk for hours in silence. It is difficult to imagine what he remembered in such moments that he regretted.
In 2002, Vyacheslav Vasilyevich suffered a myocardial infarction, but managed to recover. However, a couple of years later, his health deteriorated again. Despite several surgeries, Tikhonov's heart stopped on December 4, 2009. However, the memory of a great actor will definitely live for many years.
