The parents of the future actor lived 60 kilometers from Moscow in the small town of Pavlovsky Posad. My father worked as a mechanic at a local weaving factory, my mother worked as a teacher in a kindergarten. The young family lived in the same house with their parents, so little Slava had a special connection with his grandparents.

He studied well, he was good at mathematics and physics, he liked history. But Tikhonov was not an exemplary child. He could pick apples with his friends in the neighbor's garden, could sneak from adults and indulge in tobacco. And once even got a tattoo with the name “Glory” on his hand. Later, I really regretted that stupidity. And all his life he hid the tattoo either with makeup or with gloves.

The beginning of the war put an end to a carefree life. The school was converted into a hospital. And 13-year-old Vyacheslav went to get the profession of turner in a craft school. And very soon he began to work at the factory, where, along with adults, he performed defense orders, making his contribution to the approach of the end of the war.

However, even in the most difficult times, the guy found solace in the movie. Together with friends in his spare time he ran to the local cinema. And enjoyed such iconic films of that time as “Chapai”, “Two fighters”, “Deputy of the Baltic”, “Big Life”...

The young man watched the actors play and dreamed that one day he would also be on the other side of the screen. The movie attracted Tikhonov, and he was already seriously thinking about the profession of an actor.

Although the parents hoped that the son would become a respected engineer or agronomist. He almost gave in to the pressure of his relatives. He even took a preparatory course on his way to the Automechanical Institute. But then he got stubborn.

After studying for a year, Vyacheslav told his family that he decided not to become an engineer, but an actor. The family was strongly opposed, but on the side of the grandson was the grandmother. She supported the aspirations of the guy, and soon he went to the competition in VGIK. However, there Vyacheslav was recognized as “not sufficiently photogenic”.

However, Boris Bibikov managed to see something special in the young man and later enrolled him in his course. In the end, the teacher was not mistaken, because Tikhonov was a very diligent student, graduated with honors. And then successfully took advantage of the opportunities and soon became a famous and sought-after actor.
