For connoisseurs of poppy pastries and lovers of extraordinary desserts, we have saved a special recipe - a stunning poppy cake, but not simple, but with oranges. The recipe was peeked at Polish friends, and then easily reproduced in the home kitchen. 10 minutes on batting, 40 on baking and 30 on cooling!

- 1/2 tbsp poppy
- 3 oranges
- 185g butter
- 110g sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 tsp orange peel
- 190g flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
Cream ingredients
- 150g sugar
- 160g butter
Preparation
- Wash oranges and cut them peel thin strips - it will come in handy for cream. With the same oranges you can rub the peel for dough, or you can use packaged from the store, as we did.
- Juice out of oranges, you need 160 ml for dough and 80 ml for cream.
- In a separate dish, pour poppy grains and pour 160 ml of orange juice. Put it aside.
- Blow soft butter with sugar to a creamy state. Add 1 egg to the mixture, beat thoroughly for 1 minute, then add a second egg and beat well again.
- Add orange peel to this mass. Sip the flour with baking powder in a separate bowl.
- Alternately enter the pastry and poppy mixture (together with juice), stirring with a metal spoon. It should be a smooth and shiny mass.
- Pour the finished dough into a baking mould, level and bake for 45 minutes in a 180-degree oven.
- Remove the resulting cake from the oven, cool for 10 minutes and only then remove from the mold. Cut it into two equal parts.
- Next, you need to prepare the cream. 80 ml of orange juice mix with 150 g of sugar and cook over a slow heat until the latter is completely dissolved, constantly stirring the mixture. Add the orange peel, bring to a boil and boil for another 5 minutes without stirring.
- Remove the pot from the fire, with the help of kitchen forceps, catch the zest from the syrup and lay it on the grille. The syrup is completely cool.
- 160 g of butter whisk to a creamy state. Gradually pour orange syrup into the oil, constantly whipping. You should get a glossy and smooth oil cream.
- Apply half the cream on the lower crust, cover with a second crust and lay out the remaining cream on top. You can use a cooking syringe to make the cake look more elegant. Decorate your dessert with dried orange candy and serve it to the table.
- Although the cream according to our recipe is not fatty and not sweet, but very pleasant to taste, instead you can use custard.
