How beautiful to put Olivier on the table

For more than a hundred years, the Olivier salad, the recipe of which was invented in the XIX century by the chef and owner of the Moscow Hermitage restaurant Lucien Olivier, has changed beyond recognition, but this has not lost its popularity.

Inventive housewives, wanting to surprise and please guests, constantly bring something new to the classic recipe. In the presentation of the salad "Christmas log" creatively combined two things: the medieval tradition of burning before Christmas ritual logs and beloved by us since childhood Olivier.

  4. Plant the food film and lay the salad on the film in layers: potatoes, sausage, carrots, cucumbers and onions, eggs, peas.

  5. Connect the opposite edges of the film, wrapping the salad in a tube.

  6. Cut from each end of the roulette 10 cm.

  7. Transfer the central part of the roll to a dish and carefully remove the film. Attach the cut parts on the sides of the roll, imitating logs folded cross over.
  8. Grease the salad with mayonnaise. Use the fork to simulate the bark.

  9. The base of the salad is decorated with chopped greens.

  10. Salad "Christmas log" ready. Bon appetit!
