Why You Should Always Listen to Your Parents

Life is full of amazing stories and vicissitudes of fate. Some things seem unimaginable, but they happen. Even in Hollywood movies you will not find such amazing twists. That’s the story we would like to share with you.

Today's edition. "Site" It tells the story of two lovers who just didn’t listen to their parents. How interesting it all turned out...

This story began 60 years ago in Cornwell. Bob was 19 years old, he worked as a cook, Jean was 17, and she worked as a waitress. The two fell in love and decided to get married. However, parents felt that the children were too young to marry.

In England in 1956, young lovers could not get married without their parents’ consent. They decided to do their own thing and did not obey their parents. Bob and Jean boarded their loyal 1947 Royal Enfield Flying Flea motorcycle and left for the Scottish town of Gretna Green.

There they married and began their independent life. Without parental support, money was tight. Eventually, the motorcycle had to be sold. The couple regretted it, but there was no way out at the time.

It's been 60 years. Despite their parents’ fears about their marriage, Bob and Jean lived a long and happy life together. Sad predictions did not come true: the couple celebrated a diamond wedding. They shared the holiday with three children, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

And recently there was an amazing story. After the sale of that first motorcycle, Bob did not change his passion. And one day he saw at the sale exactly the same Royal Enfield, in which he and Jean fled to Scotland. Bob decided to buy it in memory of the past.

While he was repairing the bike, there was a note inside that Bob wrote 60 years ago. It's his long-standing habit of attaching papers to the crankshaft with the date of the last repair. The note read, “This motorcycle helped our love come true.” Gene and Bob.

Bob doesn't remember writing it, but there's no doubt it's the same bike. He first helped them escape and find happiness, then returned 60 years later to remind them of those crazy days. Isn't that just in movies?

Apparently not. Life sometimes makes such dashing turns that writers can not imagine such a thing. And in this case, it remains to be happy for Bob and Jean, because they found each other and, despite everything, lived a long and happy life.

Of course, not everyone is so lucky. Statistics play against early marriage. In youth, emotions and feelings boil with greater force, but lack depth. People at a young age are more interested not so much in the relationship as in the opportunity to get romantic experiences and adventures.

Often parents are right when they try to dissuade young lovers from rash actions. But, as practice shows, it is not always necessary to listen to parents. After all, if Bob and Jean had listened to them then, there would not have been such a beautiful and happy love story.
