Why Leonid Kanevsky doesn't age at 82

“How old is Leonid Kanevsky?” I wondered when I watched the recent issue of “Evening Urgant”. And I was amazed to learn that this wonderful actor and host recently turned 82 years old. He looks much younger, though. And memory, sense of humor and ingenuity are such that any young person can only envy.

Yes, and outwardly he keeps well, more than 70 will not give him. Some viewers even noted in the comments that a long time ago watched the program “The investigation led...”, and the presenter today looks the same, has not changed at all.

First of all, it is worth remembering that Leonid Semenovich was born on May 2, 1939 in Kiev, in an ordinary Jewish family. Mother was engaged in home comfort, and father worked as a technologist. By the way, the head of the family was sure that both the younger Leonid and the elder Alexander would follow in his father’s footsteps. But that was not the case.

Alexander soon discovered a craving for literature (possibly affected by his mother's genes) and became a satirist writer. But Leonida was drawn to the world of theater and cinema. Since childhood, he without regret spent all his pocket money to be at the next Kiev film premiere.

Still, when the guy seriously announced the decision to enter one of the theater institutes in Moscow, the parents were wary of this. But then they agreed. However, because of the Ukrainian accent, the guy was denied both in the Moscow Art Art Art Theater and in the Shchepka.

17-year-old Leonid lost heart, but at the insistence of his mother made another attempt and did not fail. In Shchukinsky school a guy was taken. By the way, he was lucky to study next to Andrei Mironov, Vasily Livanov, Olga Yakovleva and other future stars of cinema.

Kanevsky made his film debut in 1963 in the film Forty Minutes Before Dawn. Then there were shootings in the fairy tale film “City of Masters”. Of course, these roles were episodic and inconspicuous to the general audience. But it was necessary for the actor to get a big chance.

The comedy “Diamond Hand”, where Kanevsky got a small role as a smuggler, became incredibly successful. And Leonid Semenovich also got his share of fame. Moreover, even in those few episodes, he improvised and showed his best side.

The directors admitted that Kanevsky is a talented actor, but they did not dare to make him the central hero. All because of the small height - only 168 centimeters. But then there was the television series “Investigation leads ZnatoKi”, in which Leonid Semenovich got the role of Major Tomin. The project liked the audience, so after the first four episodes of the shooting was extended. In the end, there were 24 episodes.

Host "Investigation led ..." It is curious that Leonid Kanevsky returned to the topic of investigations in 2006, when he agreed to be the host of the program “The investigation led...” He liked the fact that in the project he would not only talk about the investigation of high-profile cases, but also be able to acquaint viewers (especially young) with the life of Soviet people.

The program about the most high-profile cases of the Soviet era (from 1917 to 1991) quickly gained popular love. The audience was interested to learn about how Soviet detectives worked, and about how ordinary people lived, how they solved everyday problems, what they believed in, what they dreamed of.

The show is still on TV today. In many ways, this is the merit of Leonid Kanevsky, who turned each issue into a small historical story. His humor and capacious phrases were remembered by every viewer. A personal opinion about what is happening on the screen prompted to think about those difficult times.

Now Leonid Kanevsky continues to work, despite solid years. Since 1975, he is married to a wonderful woman – Anna Berezina, who in 1977 gave birth to his only daughter – Natalia. Leonid Semenovich also has two grandchildren with whom he likes to spend the weekend.
