I think about the life of our mothers earlier and involuntarily envious, a lot could afford.

Undoubtedly, the quality of life has improved significantly over the past few decades. Much has become more accessible, and the choice these days is greater: you do not need to stand in line for hours for scarce goods. However, there are some things that used to be ubiquitous, and now fade into the background. Let's remember, lived before our mothers and grandmothers.

How did you live before? quality of products, clothing, furniture and appliancesMany would agree that it was better before. In addition, some services were much more affordable than they are now. Well, we've compiled a list of things that used to be the norm, but are now considered more of a luxury. And not just in terms of price.

Previously, wooden floors, bleached ceilings and painted walls were the norm in every apartment. Furniture was also made. naturalwood. Now, if a person steles parquet instead of laminate, it means that he has money.

Nowadays, it is much cheaper and easier to paste wallpaper than to paint walls with spatula and plaster. Stretch ceilings have become much cheaper, and now almost everyone prefers this method to good old whitewash. Plastic furniture prevails over natural, because it is much cheaper.

Nowadays, it has become very difficult to be an eco, even though it used to be the norm. In the USSR, people went to the store with avosaks, handed over glass for money, and the products were packaged in paper or reusable containers, which were always reused. Today, environmental activists are sounding the alarm: plastic has a terrible impact on the environment and our health. But joining an environmentally friendly lifestyle is not so easy.: products in glass containers are many times more expensive, there are very few points for receiving glass containers and waste paper.

We generate a lot of garbage. And plastic is so ubiquitous that avoiding it becomes problematic. The same goes for clothes. They used to sew and buy for centuries. And now we're mindlessly consuming. We become victims of marketing. We buy new clothes every season. The one that will turn into rags in a couple of months and go to the trash.

During the youth of our mothers and grandmothers, there were no yogurts with additives and bizarre flavors. No harmful oils were added to confectionery products, and vegetables and fruits were mainly brought from the country or bought at the markets. There was real milk in the ice cream. The packages weren't as colorful, and the choices were smaller. But everything was natural.. Now products with the words “eco” and “natural” can afford not all: they cost 3 times more expensive than usual.

Previously, almost all sections for children were free. If you want - do dance or sports, and if you want - draw or collect aircraft models. Parents did not pay for the mugs their children attended. Many were enrolled in several sections at once, and the finances did not suffer from this. Now sending your child to at least one section is a luxury, not every family will be able to afford it.

Now, to send your child to university, you need to save money for years. Previously, there was no paid education in principle. It was easy to live on a scholarship. Today’s students who study at the budget department and receive a scholarship are completely unable to provide for themselves financially. Not to mention those who study for a fee.

Hairdressing services in hairdressers beforemuch more accessible. Women ran into the salon even before work to do the laying. Prices did not bite, so many visited the barber several times a week. Modern women (and men) do it much less often, no more than 1 time a month. After all, professional hair dyeing and cutting is not cheap in our time.

Thinking about it, lived before My parents, I want to go back to those days. Try what a real filling tastes like, or buy a milkshake for 11 kopecks and look at a world that has not yet been captured by plastic and consumer culture. It is a pity that the time machine has not yet been invented.
