A cake with tomatoes that will smell all over the staircase

Tomato cake. In fact, the name for this dish is not. We prefer something like a tomato pie and drunken onions. Especially since it is closer to the essence of the dish. But what to do, for conciseness will do and so. We're not in a restaurant after all.



Anyway, the cake really turns out to be very tasty and aromatic. And of the ingredients for it does not need almost any delights. Unless you don't forget to buy puff dough at the store. Otherwise, there should be no problems.

Cake with tomato ingredients

  • 600 g of small tomatoes (cherries will not fit, more fleshy)

  • 2 tbsp strong aromatic alcohol

Preparation
  1. First of all, get the puff dough. Or use a ready recipe and prepare it in advance.


  2. Wash and halve small fresh tomatoes. Pour them with olive oil and send them to a pot covered with parchment. Bake in grill mode at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes. Thus, the tomatoes themselves will remain juicy, but also a little prepared.


  3. Cut the onions and roast until golden in the pan. At the very end, pour alcohol on him and evaporate it completely.


  4. Now lay the onions on the surface of the tomatoes. This filling keeps a good balance of taste and texture: tomatoes moderately sour due to onions, and small pieces of onion dilute halves of tomatoes. Sprinkle and add herbs to taste.


  5. Cover the vegetables with a layer of dough and prick its surface with toothpicks. Now the dough will not swell when cooking.


  6. Use the oven in convection mode so that the dough becomes crispy and appetizing, and the filling remains juicy. 20 minutes at 180 degrees is enough for the eyes. Now just turn the dish over so that the dough serves as a plate or crust, like in pizza. A simple but exquisite tomato cake is ready!




If you can not use the grill mode in your oven, no problem: just roast a little tomato in the pan in oil. And then cook them in the oven as it says in the recipe.



For those who like the dish to have more flavor, we advise serving a cake with soft bitter cheese. It makes no sense to grind cheese from above, because our cake is essentially a flipper. And if it weren't for that fact, to be honest, cheese crust would have turned this dish into a regular pizza. And in our case, the taste and aroma are very individual, try it yourself!
