Destructive Relationship Scenarios from Soviet Love Films
As a child, I loved watching Soviet love movies with my grandmother. There seems to be no better movie in the world. What is the movie “Love and Pigeons”? It's a real masterpiece! In my opinion, no foreign melodrama can compare with him. What do you think?
My childhood has passed, and I am still absolutely delighted with Soviet cinema. Agree, no modern film does not cause the same storm of emotions as all these beautiful soulful scenes performed by such characters like you. Who would have thought that such wonderful films can have a negative impact on the person watching them?
Usually, when watching a movie, we do not think about how the events unfolded in it will affect our personal life. Meanwhile, any of our views on relationships are formed in particular during the observation of the development of the love story of other people (even the characters of the movie).
Those who have ever had the pleasure of watching the romantic tragicomedy of George Danelia “Afonya”, after watching this film, are sure that you can correct the behavior of a bad person with love alone.
A vivid example of this is the relationship between the main characters of the above-mentioned cinema, Afanasia Borschova and Katya Snegireva. Instead of looking for a new relationship that would initially be healthy, the girlfriend of the main character persistently tried to help the beloved to improve his life and patiently endured all his antics.
It is worth noting that in real life you can find many such examples. Is it wise to sacrifice your own happiness for the good of another person who will not appreciate your efforts anyway?
Equally destructive is the belief that self-love can be nurtured. That is, to force yourself to experience tender feelings for absolutely any person, even if at first there was not even the slightest sympathy between you. You can find the same romanticization of this belief in the Soviet comedy called “I am in love at my own request”, directed by the brilliant Sergei Mikaelyan.
Of course, often at the first meeting people do not get to know each other well enough. So to judge how their relationship will develop in the long run is not always reasonable. But most of the time, the first impression we have on an intuitive level is ultimately the right one. So isn’t it better to listen to yourself and not start a relationship with someone who can never become a true close friend and partner for you?
Perhaps you have also had to engage in destructive romantic relationships under the influence of exaggerated melodramas? Maybe you think this is all nonsense? Anyway, we look forward to your comments on this! We really need to know your opinion.
In the meantime, we say goodbye and wish you a beautiful day! See you soon.
