A vainly forgotten salad from Soviet times, which my mother always served on the New Year's table

In our family, the New Year has always been our favorite holiday. My mother and grandmother spent the whole day in the kitchen and cooking different goodies. Everyone was looking forward to Olivier and I wanted to try my mother. salad. Few people think about it now, but I have not forgotten the recipe, I cook for every holiday.

Editorial "Site" She's sharing with you a Soviet-era salad recipe we've forgotten. Why "Olivier" if you have this salad?

Salad with fried carrot Ingredients
  • 1 chicken breast
  • 2 bulbs
  • 2 carrots
  • pickles
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • garlic
  • salt and pepper

Preparation
  1. Mom used pork for salad, but any meat would do. I like chicken better. First, the meat must be boiled, cooled and cut into pieces.

  2. Then cut the onion and roast it to a golden crust.

  3. Add grated carrots to the onions and fry until ready. Then put it on a plate and cool it.

  4. Cucumbers with quarters. Usually two small cucumbers are enough, but you can take more. Leave half the cucumber for decoration.

  5. Mix the breast, onion and carrot in a small bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste. Then add the mayonnaise and mix well. If you want to make a less calorie option, then instead of mayonnaise, put low-fat yogurt and a little mustard. Leave the salad to brew.

  6. Salad with fried carrots put in a salad and decorate with cucumber slices, mayonnaise and greens if desired. You'll love it, you'll see!

This salad reminds me of my childhood and holiday. The days when you are happy, carefree and believe in miracles. Mom and Grandma do magic in the kitchen, and you steal tangerines and watch the lights change on the Christmas tree. What are your best memories of the New Year holidays?
