The things a furniture maker does with new kitchen furniture to make it last for years

The kitchen is one of the main corners in the house, which you need to spend a lot to make the kitchen of your dreams. But even if you can’t afford an expensive kitchen set, it doesn’t mean that the budget option is much worse. From my experience, I know that even inexpensive kitchen furniture can look decent and in the kitchen it will be quite convenient to host and talk with friends over a cup of tea or coffee.

Our apartment with my husband is still under renovation. This is an apartment in an old house with a not very thought-out layout and pipes sticking out on all sides. The first thing I had to do was the kitchen. Our budget was small, so we chose from inexpensive but beautiful headsets.

The kitchen that we like is far from perfect, but there are details in it that will help to keep it looking good for many years. So, what to do with a new kitchen so that it lasts a long time and does not fall apart in a couple of years?

The doors of the lockers Pay attention to the ends. On the doors of the lower lockers there is often no end, if these are lockers from ordinary chipboard. So that the doors do not lead from moisture, apply in several layers on the ends and sides without ending PVA glue.

If the doors of the lockers knock hard when closing, spread a drop of hot glue on the place of contact with the shelf. You can also use a special felt, which is sold in the furniture store. There's nothing knocking now.

If you have a corner kitchen, you can not avoid cutting the countertop. At the junction of the two parts, there must be a metal seed, which must be attached to the sealant. So in the crevice will not get the remains of food, and moisture will not appear mold. The same applies to the edges of the countertop, especially if there is a gas stove in the kitchen, rather than an embedded oven.

The gap between the wall and the countertop must be closed with a kitchen plinth. Otherwise, dirt, remnants of food, fat and, ultimately, uninvited guests with mustaches will accumulate under the whole structure.

If you look at the bottom of the countertop, there should be a drop rod. This is a protruding strip or groove along the entire countertop, which does not allow moisture to penetrate the doors of lockers.

The sink in the kitchen should also be attached to the sealant. The place in the locker under the sink is highly exposed to moisture. So that the edge doesn't lead, seal it with tape.

Do not forget that dust accumulates on top of the lockers. This place should be washed once a week so that an indelible sticky layer does not form. Some housewives cover this place with a newspaper and change it every few weeks.

Beautiful plinth, which covers the cavity under the kitchen, accumulates a lot of dirt on itself. So some people put a kitchen mat under their feet or tape the bottom of the plinth so that it does not get soaked after washing the floor and cleaning the kitchen.

All these little things will prolong the life of even the most inexpensive kitchen furniture. What tricks help you keep your kitchen clean? Do you agree that even inexpensive kitchen furniture can last for many years with proper care?
