Patch22— wooden high-rise building with solar power

The construction of multi-storey wooden houses is on the rise, and to make sure this is a good idea, just look at Patch22 — located in Amsterdam multi-storey wooden house.

Patch22 height is 30 meters, making it the tallest wooden house in the Netherlands. Its total area is 5400 square meters. The apartment is very easy to alter the individual requirements of the owner, as the electric cabling and sewers to move much easier than in brick or concrete houses. In addition, the house can be used as an office building in the future, if it will be profitable to the owners.

On the South side Patch22 located balconies on which to sunbathe or to turn this space into a winter garden. The roof of the house completely covered with solar panels that produce electricity, sending excess juice back to the grid. Also there is a system of rainwater collection for toilets and the heating system in the basement is a large solid fuel boiler that is heated exclusively with pellets, fuel from wood waste.

The house meets all fire regulations, this tree was impregnated with a special fire resistant treatment, thanks to which in case of fire, the wood will not burn, just char, and quite slow. This is the first apartment building of the Netherlands, which uses this approach, allowing you to live in a "breathing" house, built of wood.

Patch22 was built last year, the cost of its construction amounted to 6.4 million euros (of 6.85 million dollars). Now developers plan to build a similar house nearby. published
