This girl was the luckiest of the all unlucky in the world. And here's why



The incredible life story of Violet Jessop, perhaps, deserved a full adaptation, and all because she managed to survive in three major shipwrecks of the last century.

In early childhood the girl was sick with tuberculosis, but despite pessimistic forecasts of doctors, she managed to recover. At age 23, Violet got a job as a flight attendant in a company that makes TRANS-Atlantic flights — the White Star Line.







Violet worked on Board the great ship "Olympic". In 1911, during an unsuccessful maneuvering the ship collided with another vessel, resulting in received a 14-metre hole. Fortunately, this accident has done without victims.

The girl continued to work in the company and on April 10, 1912 along with other members of the crew boarded a twin of the "Olympic" , "Titanic", which originally didn't want to sit down, but succumbed to the persuasion of friends who assured her that the work on "Titanic" would be a good recommendation.

In the night from 14 to 15 April, a huge ship was wrecked, and Violet managed to survive along with the other stewardesses to be in lifeboat No. 16. In her memoirs she recalls that when she went to the boat, one of the officers transferred her to hold a small child. With the baby girl rose on Board the "Carpathia", where a woman jumped to her, grabbed the child and, without saying a word, ran away.

However, one of the largest shipwrecks of the twentieth century forced Violet to quit your job. During the First world war, the girl served as a red cross nurse on Board the rescue ship "Britannic".

In November 1916 the ship was blown up by a German mine. During the rescue operation, two boats were launched, but an accident happened: the boat was being drawn in a still-rotating propellers "Britannica". Violet Jessop was in one of these boats, but she managed to jump out of it and survived.

42 Violet Jessop worked on passenger ships, and twice has made round-the-world cruise on the liner "Belgenland". This amazing woman has lived a long and full life and died at the ripe age of 83 years.
