Eco-friendly fish farm
Unlike the usual us fish farms old model, rybhoznaya Kampachi do not harm the environment. Hawaiian maricultura company Farm Kampachi (while kampachi offers Farms) has developed the project of floating fish farms, or Aquapods, which allow you to get the fish without harming the environment.
The project for this company called "Velella" is a brass cage 6.5 meters in diameter, which float near the Big island of Hawaii and attached to floating bases. Bases are marine biologists who monitor the fish and feed them. Fish are kept on a special diet in which fish oil and fish meal replaced by more sustainable protein diet consisting of soy oil and soy flour. Brass mesh resists fouling of various biological organisms, therefore there is no need to apply any chemicals. And due to the fact that the South American yellowtail, which they reared in this way are actually in a familiar environment, all waste products of the fish do not accumulate in one place, and naturally dispersed in the water.
According to Neil Anthony Sims (Neil Anthony Sims), Executive Director of the Farm Kampachi, "this technology has the chance to revolutionize fish farming, making it the most environmentally friendly form of food industry on the planet."
This project is implemented with the participation of several commercial organizations as well as the National oceanic and atmospheric administration (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA) under the Ministry of Commerce of the United States.
So far, the public reaction to this project a few wary, however, if everything really is as good as presented, to confirm the words of the Executive Director of this organization, saying it really is revolutionary technology. But everything is so simple: just raise fish with the use of forage in a natural environment, only separated by mesh.
