It was here, in Bordeaux, will be in a few years, built a cultural center with a total area of 12 000 sq. m, which is in agreement with the municipality will house three state agencies FRAC, the ECLA and the OARA, dedicated to the support and development of visual arts, theatre and music, literature and cinematography.

The building consists of two volume elements connected by a jumper, and resembles a frame for the artwork. Thanks to the through-opening is supported by the urban connection between the regions of Bordeaux, located on opposite banks of the Garonne. The Central part of the complex is designed in the form of high platforms, which can be used as a stage for concerts and theatrical performances under the open sky or mounting large-scale installations.

At the presentation of the project head office BIG Bjarke Ingels and his spoke of the need "to let art into the city and daily life of the city to make part of the architecture of the Center." In fact, this concept is implemented in the following way. In fact, the interior of the building is designed as a pedestrian route, which includes numerous ramps, galleries, stairways and passages. The pedestrian zone of the embankment flows smoothly under the roof, then makes a loop around the Center and continues. The architects hope that visitors walking along the river, will come inside to explore art galleries, attend lectures, exhibitions and film screenings, and then go on about their business.

The authors of the project proposed to decorate the facades of the buildings, as well as a promenade zone — limestone. This stone is traditional for the architecture of Bordeaux.
