Men and women respond to stress differently. Scientists from the International Research Institute SISSA (Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati, Italy) came to the conclusion that under stress, men lose the ability to understand the emotions of other people, and women — on the contrary, become more emotional, open and understanding.
The researchers conducted an experiment in which participants had to perform a mathematical task, and then they put moral pressure with the help of special speeches.
As a result, it was found that men in the conditions of a stressful situation less women are inclined to empathize, control their own emotions and understand the emotions of other people.
Women, on the contrary, become more open and social, probably due to the fact that it is easier for them to share their experiences with others, helping to overcome the complex psycho-emotional state.
