Surprisingly warming, fragrant soup for a rainy or winter day. If not sweet potatoes, you can replace it with pumpkin or turnip.
In 3 quart saucepan:
- 2.5 l of broth with meat (I got beef)
- 1 medium sweet potato
- 1 medium onion
- 1 carrot
- 100 g lentils
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- paprika, curry, cumin, salt, pepper
- greens
Peel the vegetables, sweet potato cut into cubes, finely chopped onion, carrots to RUB on a grater. In boiling broth of vegetables and lentils, add tomato paste and spices and cook until the lentils are tender. If you wish, you can pre-fry the onions and carrots with spices. 10 minutes until cooked add salt and paprika.
Serve with fresh greens and sour cream.
