The art of eating according to Ayurveda

Ayurveda offers many simple and practical tips on how to eat properly. Most of them are known to us, but to refresh your memory never hurts, especially since the art of correct power to master is not so easy!

Eat if hungry. In fact, real hunger comes only when the previously eaten food is completely digested. Sometimes what we take for hunger is just a lack of sufficient amounts of fluid. Pay attention to yourself and try to learn to distinguish real hunger from imagined.

Eat in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Try to devote time to eating whole food... no TV, books, iPhones, iPads, laptops.

Do not eat more than you can digest. Hungry days are gone, you can relax-))

Eat warm food. Cold products are "quenched" digestive fire, and food is digested worse.

Avoid too dry food. The foods should be juicy or slightly oily. It helps the absorption.

Try not to eat incompatible products.

Here are 10 unsuccessful combinations which, from the point of view and Ayurveda, and modern medicine, is destructive to health.

Generally speaking, no normal person would use these products together if I knew what happens in his stomach. Short-term consequences of reckless power – a feeling of heaviness in the stomach, nausea, pain, fatigue. Long-term – bad breath, dry skin, pimples and redness, poor sleep, fatigue, inflammation. If you cease to violate the simple rules of compatibility of products, will definitely feel energized, lose weight and recuperate.

1. Fruit after a meal. All doctors know that the fruits do not combine with other products. They contain simple sugars that require no digestion so they are not retained in the stomach for a long time. Other products, especially those that are rich in fats, proteins and starch, stay there longer, because they need longer treatment. So if you ate fruit for dessert, fruit sugar will get stuck in the stomach and begins to ferment.

2. Lasagna or a sandwich with grilled cheese. Protein and starches require different enzymes and acid levels. When you eat them together, the body has to digest the protein, not starch. Undigested starch undergoes fermentation and decomposition, which leads to the formation of toxic substances. To facilitate the digestion of fatty cheese, adding herbs.

3. Omelet with meat and cheese. In General, to combine protein with protein is not recommended. One concentrated protein per meal is easier to digest. So it is better to choose an omelette with herbs.

4. Tomato-cheese sauce for pasta. Tomatoes are considered acidic, and you should not mix them with starchy foods like pasta. Mix carbohydrates with acids too bad. Adding a dairy product to this already bad mix, you'll make a wonderful dish for digestive disorders. The body will take a tremendous amount of energy to digest. Eat better pasta with pesto and grilled vegetables.

5. Cereal or oatmeal with milk and orange juice. Fruit acids destroy enzymes that help digest starches in the grain. They ferment milk and turn it into a heavy mucous substance. Drinking fresh juice should be at least 30 minutes before Breakfast.

6. The beans and cheese. Milk protein and beans – a typical combination of Mexican food. Eating them with guacamole and hot sauce, you just get bloating and upset. And the reason is not in the beans, and in combination products. Try not to mix cheese and tomatoes, especially if you have a weak digestion.

7. Melon and prosciutto (dried ham). Melon should be eaten separately. The same applies to all fruit.

8. Bananas and milk. According to Ayurveda, is one of the most toxic and heavy combinations. If you are a fan of banana milkshakes, add cardamom and nutmeg to stimulate digestion.

9. Yogurt with fruits. Don't mix acidic fruits with dairy products, as this dampens the digestive fire, change the intestinal flora, provoking the emergence of the toxins causing the common cold, cough and allergies. If you can't resist the fruit salad with yogurt, try to minimize the damage: take natural unflavored yogurt at room temperature. Instead of fruit it is better to put the honey, cinnamon and raisins.

10. Lemon vinaigrette salad of cucumbers and tomatoes. Solanaceae such as potato, chilli, eggplant, tomatoes, it is better not to mix with cucumbers. While lemon does not fit any of these plants.

Of course, we are all different, each body has its own distinct characteristics. Try to follow these recommendations for two weeks and see what the result will be. Most likely, you will feel much better!
