How to cook pilaf with chickpeas brown rice

Rice with vegetables is an excellent side dish – tasty and healthy. Vegetables and spices can be changed, and then every time a new dish.





Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup. with a slide of brown rice
  • 0,5 stack. dry chickpeas (or a glass slide, soaked)
  • a couple of heads of garlic (to clean from the husk completely not necessary, only remove the upper layer)
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 large onion
  • Chile (if fresh — just put the whole pod, when dried — a pinch will be enough)
  • at 3/4 teaspoon cumin (better cumin) and spices for pilaf (no spices, add turmeric, 1 tablespoon of barberry, Laurel)
  • 1/2 tsp coriander, ground
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 3/4-1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp ol. oil (unscented)
  • water (about 700 ml)
  • herbs for supply
How to prepare:

1. Soak overnight chick peas in pure water. Wash.

2. Chop the onion half rings, carrot sticks. Heat 2 tbsp oil and sauté for 5 minutes. To wash the rice. Add the chickpeas and rice, spices, and salt and pour water so that water covered the rice on top of approximately 1 cm.

3. Submerge the garlic and if using fresh Chile. Slightly flatten the rice but do not stir (!). Leave it on maximum heat to simmer without a lid for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to low and cook for 30 minutes.

4. Nothing stirred not necessary, in 30 minutes you can make a "hole" to check whether all the water is absorbed. Serve hot.published
