"French", or panoramic windows
"French", or panoramic windows - these words immediately awaken the imagination of leaves rustling, the smell of coffee and pastries, and a feeling of warmth and light, flood all around. And although the "windows to the floor," found in many European cities, we still associate them inextricably with Paris. Why?
The answer is the name of Baron Georges Eugene Haussmann and his epoch "Haussmannization Paris" that changed in the 1860s, the face of the city beyond recognition. Paris, as we know it, was created thanks to the plan of Baron from 1860's to 1930, when the buildings in the city built a well-defined species, with its characteristic rows of "French balconies" on the facades, sloping roofs and well-defined height (not greater than 22 meters). Even successive bright architectural styles did not change radically the well-established scheme, introducing diversity only in the decor. And the balconies and windows of this type have become associated with Paris, adding notes frivolous mood of the city everywhere, wherever appearing.
