The most creative couples in Russia



The site presents the first in the history of our advertising award rating of Russian creatives. It is not the first year that AKAR and e-generator have been summing up the most awarded agencies in the country, but for some reason no one has done the same for the authors of these works, who won at festivals during the year.

The editorial board decided to conduct an experiment and compile a similar rating based on one of the ratings of creativity of agencies. And as a starting point, we took the e-generator project – Tor-25 for 2009, together with the scoring system and the list of festivals that are “going into the competition”. Having carefully selected from the lists of winners and finalists of the IDF, Idea!, ADCR Awards, Golden Drum, Epica and Cannes Lions agency employees from the top 25 and counting the number of points, the Site formed its own Tor-15 from the 56 most awarded Russian creatives.

To prevent the list from spreading to hundreds of people, an entrance quota of at least five points was established. And in addition, it is worth noting that this rating is only art directors and copywriters. Therefore, representatives of design and web studios (and there are almost half of them in the e-generator rating) are not on the list. Creatives, designers and webbers do too different jobs to compare.

The rating of creatives includes 30 art directors and 26 copywriters from 13 creative agencies. 15 people from Leo Burnett Moscow, 10 from BBDO, 6 each from Instinct and Saatchi & Saatchi Russia. There are RA “Sunrise” and mfive creative group. From these agencies in the rating got 3 and 2 creatives, respectively, but here it is worth bearing in mind that these 3 and 2 creatives are the entire creative department of the agency.

And a few more explanations before moving on to the list of those who make our advertising better and brighter.

  • The rating does not claim absolute objectivity. The scoring system of the e-generator does not take into account, for example, Golden Hammer, where Russian agencies are represented very, very widely, Eurobest, where Russia had one victory in 2009, and many other festivals. So next time we will develop our own scoring system to be as objective as possible.
  • We do not exclude the possibility that some of the works that won at the six festivals included in the rating are fake or semi-fake. However, we cannot prove this at the moment and therefore leave it on the conscience of the creators.
  • The agency next to the name of the creative artist is not the one in which he works on January 20, 2010, but the one in which he was listed at the time of creation of the work, which subsequently received the award. For example, copywriter Victor Lander has been working in Instinct since the beginning of 2009, but he got into the rating with the OGI project, which was created at Leo Burnett. And BBDO art director Pavel Ganin did his festival work (Eurobest was not counted) when he was an employee of Saatchi.

From Tor-25 from the rating of e-generator agencies, the Site did not include employees of Direct Design Visual Branding, Illan advertising group, RA Great, fastway. Ideas That Rock!, Brand Studio, Muhina Design, Dear Studios, General Line! Samara, DEFA Interactiv, Red Keds Creative Agency and Front:Design. Because the points (or most) of these agencies and studios scored for design or Internet projects.
In the case of McCann Erickson Russia, located on the 14th line of the rating of creativity and scored 15 points, in the lists of winners of six festivals awarded in 2009, there were no works and creative groups that would score more than 5 points. And in general, the indicated amount of points were not found - only 7 out of 15. If there is a universal injustice in this, write in the comments, in person or in the mail - we will correct.

The e-generator scoring system takes into account victories and shortlists at six Russian and international advertising festivals: IDF, Idea!, ADCR Awards, Golden Drum, Epica and Cannes Lions.
For the shortlist at the Russian festival is given 1 point, for bronze - 2, for silver - 4, for gold - 6, for Grand Prix - 9.
For the shortlist for Golden Drum and Epica - 2 points, for bronze - 4, for silver - 6, for gold 10, for Grand Prix - 15.
For the shortlist on the Cannes Lions - 6 points, for bronze 9, for silver - 12, for gold - 20, for the Grand Prix - 30.

For victories in the nominations “Internet” and “radio” points are divided in half. Points for the Internet were counted only from creative agencies.
